Why are these virtual knifes so expensive??? I mean M9 Bayonet Crimson Web for $5000?? No thank you, I can just go to weapon store and get real M9 Bayonet for $50-100 and also I will pay couple of bucks for someone to paint Crimson Web by Hidro-Dipping and Bob's your uncle!

You misunderstand, no one will pay $5000 but others with knives and skins around $5000 will trade for it.

It is worth it in trade if you have equal value in trade items.

Also supply and demand of course.

If you unbox a knife worth $5000 you won't be selling that knife dollars, but you only be trading for other items virtually worth $5000 to the CSGO community.

It's like rare coins in real life or art, it has no real value besides what the person buying it thinks of it.

Yeah right xD really rare, you can buy the knifes from CSGO almost everywhere, my friend got Karambit with skin from AliExpress for $15 and it cuts really nice

The more rare a skin is, the more expensive it is. That's why basic skins are so cheap, they are the most common. And since there is a veeeeeeery veeeeeeery tiny possibility to win a knife in a case...They are really expensive, starting from 50 euros and so on. Ofcourse the quality and design matters. A battlescarred karambit might cost 100 or so, but a factory new with a nice design...If they were "common" they would be cheaper, but if you're talking about a skins that only 10 own...get ready for a huge price

This is simple economics, you can't compare your CSGO Knife with one in reallife... One is real and the other is virtual. The virtual one has is value, cause it so rare that people will but it. Thats not bs, its like saying that buying a car in "Need for Speed" is bs, because you can drive one in reallife.

Its for the game so dont compare it with actual knifes....

You can't compare these. It's like comparing an ancient ritual dagger with a common military knife. You can easly make a karambit with skin in real life. In game you need real fcking luck to find smthung like this.

Rare in game. Of course you can go and buy a csgo knife in real life but when it comes to an in game, digital knife in csgo, they are very rare to obtain and due to the principles of supply and demand, the knife being very rare as well as very desirable means low supply, high demand. Which results in high price.
