As long as you don't get terrible screen tear I don't see any problem.
If you are talking about black bar issues there's several guides on how to force the gfx to display a stretched res.
then you need a better monitor, or just limit your fps to 120 since over a certain amount, your monitor won't be able to keep up, and even if it says 200 fps, you will only be seeing 120 or so fps (and don't start with the "but your eyes can't see more than 30 fps" argument)
