Are people in my block list on steam still able to play against me in compt mode?

.. just wondering if I can avoid toxic players and such by blocking them on steam.

Actually you can still play with them. If you joined a lobby with some friends and one of your friends invited your blocked person he could join and play.

that's how it works

it says it somewhere but I forget where

if you look at your blocked list it says it somewhere in there I think

I have played in competitive vs players taht are on my block list so it doesnt work very well.

The only thing I found was this "Are you sure you want to block this friend? You will no longer be able to send or receive messages or invites with this player." Does not give more info than this.

Any way, thanks for the feedback guys, I will just let my block fest begin and see how it goes.

A CSGO dev once said that blocking will prevent you from getting matched up with the player, but a friend said that he's gotten matched up with people he's blocked several times.

the block function has always worked on all the cs games
