CSGO- FPS DROP WHEN SEEING ENEMY!?
I've been having a lot of trouble lately concerning my fps in csgo. It seems that whenever i see a enemy. my screen FREEZES and by the time it unfreezes, im dead. I ALWAYS have no oppotunity to fight other players without this happening. Here our my computer specifics:
-Acer Laptop
-AMD Quad-Core Processor
-6GB DDR3 L Memory
Game specifics:
-Game set on high in task manager
-CSGO only program running
- Current Launch: -high -threads 4 -nod3d9ex -nojoy -novid -cl_forcepreload 1 -fps_max 0 +mat_disable_fancy_blending 1
-ALL In game visual settings get to LOW

I hope there is a solution to problem because if not i would not be able to play CSGO. Thanks

love people like 不能說的秘密 kickback.com who just brag about the fact that mommy could buy them a 1500$ graphics card instead of adding any additional helpful information to the thread GG.

Secondly, try setting mat_queue_mode 2 in the console if the freezes are FPS drops,
if you have dedicated graphics memory it would be smart to make sure it's running on the GFX card, if not, it shouldn't be a huge deal, i ran the game on a integrated @ 150fps constant with a nice cpu, the GFX is hardly used in GO.

whats the clock speed on your CPU? if it's 2.4Ghz as i suspect, that's you're culprit, if there's any way you can overclock that to by even .5, you'll see huge relief, if not then you might just have to download a config, that takes out all the gore, and bullet tracers, disables sky etc etc, and see if that helps, very cpu intensive game, i have a i5 2500k oc'd to 4.7ghz, and a r9 290x, and i keep a constant 300 fps, certain maps i see dips to 200, but it deff seems like a cpu issue, try the best you can to unpark cores, or overclock if that particular model allows it, just make sure you monitor temps, you don't wanna fry anything.

Best of luck~

Your prelaunch is insane, this is better -high -threads 4 -tick 128 -novid -nojoy. If this doesn't work try completely deleteing CSGO and reinstalling.

tried that...did NOT solve the issue :(

I went into task manager into the CPU page and i saw a "1.09Ghz". That must be very bad and i was wondering if you could link me or tell me more about the config. Thanks!
Play with your charger plugged in, you need a direct power source for lesws laggy gameplay on a laptop unless you're playing on a super laptop. Also you can overclock a but if you want, it'll help. Use a small fan to cool your laptop down

I have been playing with my computer always charging on full and a small fan next to my computer fan.
I desperately need this issue solved. Bump
You said your processor is 1.09ghz--that's your problem.

is there a way to boost it?
Not really, you really can't replace a laptop CPU with any ease.

You can try making sure your cores are unparked, steam is at a high priority, and changing your launch options (also that all of your video settings are as low as can be).

However, I have 1.5 quad core processor and I run at 30-50fps, no better.

Don't use a laptop
Not the ducking problem cos my laptop runs everything at at least 100 fps or over constantly even when seeing teammate. But as soon as I see a enemy, it drops to 5 fps. But only in competitive. Deathmatch is fine
I literally had to buy a new computer to solve this issue. Thanks to those who helped me tho!
You are on power saver
