Trade Up Chances
If i have a 70% chance of getting the skin i want, and i do this tradeup twice, what is the chance of me getting the skin i want AT LEAST once?

No offense, but can you count your brain cells using your fingers?
Just traded my brain as (sry, you dont know that movie) it was in the Like Father, Like Son (1987) movie.

And it was about the body not brain, thus yet again I do :steamfacepalm: myself harder and harder with each comment. Thank you lads, really... thank you very much!!!

Or, there is a 0,3x0,3 chance not to get the skin in 2 tries. 1-0,3x0,3 = 0,91 = 91% which is the answer to his question

P(S' and S')= 3/10*3/10= 9/100

also 1-0.3= 7/10
7/10*3/10=21/100. Not 91/100. Who thought you how to math.
Open windows calculator and put in 1-0.3x0,3 or learn to read what I wrote. Lesson learnt in his thread: don't discuss maths on steam
All that was needed was the first comment I posted in this thread saying "91%" . Reading this thread now makes me want to hit my head against the wall.
I often wonder why i find profit so easy to come by and everyone else has to lowball 80% of market value just to make a buck, but seeing the math here explains it all

Maybe you should have used some brackets... er i mean parenthesis, so the 'murican kids understand too :)
100% - (30% * 30%) = 91%

PS: waiting for the 100%-900% = -800% response now

Learn to use brackets when you speak math then.

Brackets? Are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb? First math lesson in first grade:"first we multiply and divide the we do the rest" have you ever heard that?

brackets are only used to disrupt the order of operations... multiplication/division always take precedence over addition/subtraction.
Are you in 6th grade or something, when you reach higher up in the leagues you'll hear your teachers saying always use brackets. Also, i'm not sure why both of us are getting different answers, i'll just agree to disagree for now. In probability theory both methods should give the same answer. I'll just think about it on the way. Have a good day

Here is a lesson for children which will help you solve one of your math problems (I assume you have more from all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you have said in this thread)

Since this threa is so much fun, let me ask you a valid question. The one site I check for a trade up contacts, which shows me possible skins and exact float value I will get. So there are 3 skins cuz of 10 I put for a contract are from the same collection. And what I get from that site is exact value & 3 x 33% for each to get, as there are only 3 possible skins of above wear.

My Q is - what happened to that 1% ay?

A is GabeN's dog ate it .

P.s. Funny thread is funny thread and Op is gone anyway.

We are both getting the same. You have to add all the probabilities that you got solving this problem your way, and you will get 91% as well.
