Setting up the EQ for CS:GO

Hello guys.

I have the ability to setup a custom EQ on my laptop, and I'd like to know what are the best settings for CS:GO to better hear footsteps, jumps and falls. Could you please help me ?

The less bass, the better. Bass makes it hard to clearly place a sounds direction.

Looks reasonable, i have a similar setting. Why do you think it's weird?

Yeah, I can hear steps from miles away, whilst others cannot it seems. Mind you i do have stereo headphones

But Do you really make the difference between foosteps and gunshots ?

You're not able to muffle out the gunshots unfortunately. They're on the same spectrum as footsteps kind of. I've had so many different setups i tried that i read on the internet. Most of these are ♥♥♥♥. Best is to just test it yourself. But this is perhaps a nice starting point.

Btw, I have a Steelseries Siberia V2 headset.
Is it better to set up my own EQ or use Razer Surround ?

Nah i wouldn't use emulated surround myself. The command lines i gave you make it so that you have 3 points left/mid/right and sound gradually shifts as you turn away from the source.

Oh and could be that you need to up snd_mixahead "0.04" to 0.05 if your sound starts crackling
