Pros don't play in 1080p
well, i was just looking at a list of Pro players setups,,, and i was suprised to see virtually none of them played in 1080p...
They tended to opt for 4:3 format with1024×768

What's that all about?? i'm guessing it's not just for higher FPS...
I'm used to: 'Higher Resolution' is better.

most of the pro players come from the early cs ages and are just used to playing with black bars on a 4:3 window setting

i wouldnt really call them pros then if they dont play 1080p or 1440p cause lower res less fov so youll lose some views on enimes

They stretch the 4:3 and play in stretched, everything becomes, well... Stretched. Easier to aim, easier to peek, harder to see what surrounds u.

shroud does.

Scream uses stretched, kenny does too, so do olof and tonn of others. But there are some that just prefer to see more, its all about personal pref.

a lot of them have been playing for 10 years or so so they are used to it that way.

they play 4:3 for preference reasons. some say its because of the past CRT monitor experience, i think its just for the increased x-axis speed and different visual appearance

interesting, i've seen the 4:3 stretch effect when i played RED Alert 1 in fullscreen...
It looks like ♥♥♥♥ tbh,,, so i'm not interested in that, even if it helps.

I can understand the fondness of 4:3 format with the bars, but i have embraced 16:9 format and 1080p is as expensive as i can roll.

everything is in the middle of the screen and doesnt require so much looking side to side for a 16:9 resolution
