I suck after 1000 hours and can't become good...
Well my story is sad. I have played over 1000 hours and i suck. Before rank update I was Master Guardian 2 and now I'm Gold Nova 3 and once even dropped to GN1. Sometimes I feel that I was better that point of time. See back then everyone sucked, spraying was only way to go and I had friends to play with. Now, most of my friend have quitted CS (and those that actually play it say I suck even though they're only one rank above) I still suck and I can't one tap. Actually some days I feel that I'm one tap god and then day I feel like Silver trying to learn game first time. This whole process started after I got new mouse and keyboard, and I started to change aspect ratio. I felt like 16:9 wasn't way to go for headshots. Quickly I got why many people praise 4:3, because it was damn easy to score headshots. But I sucked still, because I wanted my keyboard and mouse to be exact right please to be good. But I didn't found right position for them. And that was March. Now, August I keep changing crosshair, aspect ratio, chair/mouse/keyboard positions etc etc. I'm stuck in infinite loop of changing my style, because nothing seems good... every crosshair i test feels bad for headshotting, 4:3 feels too fast and 16:9 too slow, my zoom sensititivity feels weird. You get the point. What should I do? I'm obviously better than I was before rank update, but I feel worse. I don't remember my setup before changing to 4:3 first time, because I don't run autoexec. I have tested literally everything. Nothing feels good for me. Sure, I destroy everyone on Valve deathmatch, but when I hop on 1v1 Arena servers, retake servers or matchmaking itself, I end up spraying and making that magical -26 everytime... I know that I should stick with one setup more than one day, but if they don't feel good, they aren't good for me right? Please someone help me

Well you said it yourself. you keep changing things around, so you can't get used to the settings. Just changing the settings doesn't make you any better, learning to play with them will.

Before rank update, i was MG1, after that I dropped to silver 4.
With some effort, I m now GN4, although I only got 500hrs in csgo.

All I did is practising AWP and AK in deathmatch for 2 games and USP-S on 128tick pistol DM
server as well. I can now taping the heads with my USP pretty well and it makes me play well after practicing, I feel I am improving and reach the MG again.

BTW, if you want to rank up, invite top fragers in the game so that you can play with a good team, It works pretty well for me.

btw
I am still playin the game in 16:9 as I want the graphics look better.
Whats really matter is the sensitivity of ur mouse
it should be low so that you can shoot accurately.
And the crosshair setting is up to you, I prefer the static classic one, the default one cant really aim at a point accurately

All people progress differently, just make sure you're consistently improving.
I've been told in a multitude of matches that I'm a smurf because I have what I consider average skill, but i "only" have 100 or so hours.

if the game makes you sad then you need to find a new hobby

its just a video game

All you gotta do is get a small mouse pad and use 4.71 as your sensitivity and you should be fine
