Ranking skills differs from country?
I live in Brazil and, since we don't have a dedicaded BR server, we have to play in the South American server. That means we have to share it with our other latino friends (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay...) evey now and then.

Here's the thing that bugs me about them
Their game skills are WAAAAAY below the average the we're used to see with players in Brazil. The kind that most of them play with their crosshair straight to the ground, like they're looking for a nickel.
Our Silvers play way better than their GN's (Which is were I'm stuck at)

Is there a somewhat "country skillset" that I don't know about? Do players from certain countries play better/worse than the players with the same rank in other countries?

Oh, and they're also EXTREMELY toxic. You said "Hi" to them? Be prepared to be cussed out 80% of the time. You're lucky if you encounter a "civilized" one.

The skill ceilings are different for each region. Based on historical results from professional tournaments, the highest skill ceiling is around Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. The UK, France and Spain are probably the lowest skill ceiling of the major European countries.

This is just based on my own experience at the low/mid end of the spectrum, as well as a couple of high level players on my friends list.

As for toxic players, they're everywhere no matter what country you look at, they have them.

hey dude, i'm from argentina
i agree, most people who speak spanish are kind of mean to brazilians mainly because it's a different language, you either get kicked for speaking spanish or you kick someone for speaking portuguese

skill groups are generally quite balanced in your own country but in your case you're sharing. I think there will be a vast difference if EU and US had to play together. Anomaly tried to prove it but his ping was too high.

Yeah, it's mainly that.

I try my best to be friendly to everyone when I'm playing (sometimes I tilt, but that's a part of it) and the thing I see the most is other brazilians being toxic towards spanish speaking players just for the sake of it. And I also see spanish speaking players being toxic towars brazilians just for the sake of it, too.

I suspect the motive behind that is: "argentinos are mean to brazilians because they're mean, and brazilians are mean to argetinos because they're mean, too"

I think that, because of the skill difference and the language "barrier" (it's that hard to understand both languages) the well-known hate against each other get agravated

As long people are in the same region and always play together their skill is equal to each other on the same rank. Only differences are possible out of these regions, EU knowlingly has the highest skillceiling, not only in the pro scene but also in MM.

Yes there is, the countries with huge population (playing csgo) have different skills(ONLY LIMITED TO MM / EVERYTHING BELOW LEM ) compared to countries with less CSGO players.
In India, mg-dmg ranks are not very easy(compared to EU ) where , for me mg-dmg games were kinda easy and not really hard .
