how to change cfg?

i want to change my config but as soon as i delete my own or copy my new one in and i start the game the old config gets loaded and the new one is gone? how to fix?

You are probably in the wrong location.

The config files have a new location

As of December 2015, configuration files are stored in the user directory so that different users on the same computer can each have their own configuration.

The new location is: ..\Steam\userdata\[userid]\730\local\cfg\config.cfg

You can safely delete the file in your game's ..\csgo\cfg folder, it is redundant.
