Why do some pros still use 16:9?
I just found out that Shroud, one of my faavorite player in csgo uses 16:9, roca plays like shroud plays 16:9 too. why? what are the advantages?

what? many pros including kennys, scream, and others uses 4:3 black bars. some uses 4:3 stretched. but i found out that Shroud plays 16:9, also roca. but why do shroud and roca plays 16:9 instead of 4:3?

Personal preferences. Many of the mid 20 boys have played since tft and black bars were the best options.

Must admit I find it hilarious watching people play 1024 on a 144 Hz monitor

With 16:9 you have a wider FOV, so you are more likely to notice enemies in your peripherial view. 4:3 on the other hand gives you a higher fps and feeling like you're somewhat "zoomed in". I guess it's mostly personal preference since they all own PCs that max out fps anyway...

Many have stated that the tournament pcs aren't always great. This could be a reason some keep settings very low. I expect 16:9 being the norm very soon. Why wouldn't you want crisper view, more fov and a prettier game?

The most fun is that so many of you waste gazillions on skins but play 1995 settings

less pixels to aim at for a headshot.

people keep saying it is a game of angles you do not need a wide FOV if you are good with angles.

That's probably true :)

well but i guess 16:9 isnt good for bad pcs, i tried it. it gives me 60 fps, while 100+ fps in black bars. but roca and shroud's playstyle are very similar. and theyre using the same 16:9 reso.

y do people buy 50inch tv when people are using 20inch ?
y do people buy UHD screen when people are using SD
y do people use i7 when people are using core 2 duo?

Its just personal preference. No mouse, configuration, monitor, crosshair etc is going to turn you pro.

Hard work, training, dedication and devotion is what you truly need. Eric Clapton sounds exactly like Eric Clapton no matter how cheap equipment he uses.

if you put a video card that is made after 2006 and put it on a 800x600 resolution the frame rate is not stable.
I assume that why some go one step up from 4:3

less pixels easier to make headshots.

So the reason why so many pros play 4:3 is because that's what they played BAC in 1.6 and source. The Linda newer guys use 16:9. Also, 16:9 gives a better FOV. And yes, FOV matters. There was a pro match on overpass that I can't link right now but I will soon that shows why 16:9 would be better.

Been several cases which showed that 4:3 limits your view.

Most famously overpass where two players walk right past each other and mirage where pasha manages to sneak behind 2 players

The example I was thinking of, but I can't link to it since I'm on my phone and struggles.
