CS:GO with german maps

Hey guys,
can somebody tell me why so many maps are placed in Germany? I was wondering, because Valve is American and seem to have a little obsession with Germany xD. I remeber Nuke, Thunder and Overpass as being german, maybe anyone knows a few more

Nah, the signs are all german.

Only 1 map is located in Germany. Thunder was a community remake, so not a Valve map.

I don't remember anything besides the German setting. Since the revamp, new nuke is located in the US though.
