Are cases drops 100% random?

Hi all:
Like title says, are cases drops 100% random? Do you get always a new case on the first week?
I ask because i have not received a single Gamma case (i played a week after they released it and seeing how it decreases price on the market is a pain xD ) and with the Gamma 2 seems it is going to happen again (i have been playing since they released but already got my case drop of the week).
I use idle servers (you can get points to get rewards) and don't know if this could affect me (i have read that it should not and Valve is ok with them, but i want to know if you know something else).

I am not complaining too much as they are just something free and it is great but i would like to know if you know how it works or just how it works for you.

you dont get new cases automatically. i got no new case, but only old ones

I see. Maybe it was easier when i bougth the game as there were more than 1 case drop per week so you had more chances.

There's up to 3 case drops per week. There's only 1 skin drop per week, on the first level up

Really? I can only get 1 case drop per week (i know about the 1 skin when you level up), how is that posible?
Do you all get 3 per week?
(i have even rechecked files a couple of times since i started to get few drops)

(sorry for double post but this sinked pretty fast) Do you usually get these 3 drops or not? Because i used to get them but when they changed the way skins dropped, cases drops were reduced too.
And i have read others with just 1 per week.
I am wondering if i should contact support :/ xD .

The right answer would be yes, the technical answer would be no.

Why yes? Because I have no doubt that the game uses an algorithm to randomly determine which case you are dropped.

But why no? Because I also have no doubt that as is the same with gun drops and case openings the algorithm is rigged so that the percentages for certain drops are astronomically out of your favor.

Example, A chroma and breakout are the most common case drops, while the new cases drop very infrequently and as a player of 2 years on this game I've never even gotten a drop of the CS:GO Weapon Case 1, eSports 2013, or Bravo case ever in my life.

So no it's not completely random, it's on a house-wins horribly stacked against you odds based system that at random chooses what you are dropped in percentages that are always unbelievable, astronomically, impossibly against you for you to ever make anything decent.

CS:GO rates of case drops/openings is worse than vegas casino's from what I've read.

Then i guess that when i bought the game i had a bit of luck (not too much xD) with drops, now i have to "pay" for that luck xD .
Also, how many drops do you get per week, 1 like me or 3 like Sir Psycho? (cases drops; i know it is just 1 skin).

It's random, you might get 0, you might get 3. Depends on how much you play and how often you pray to RNGesus

Mmm... but using Idle servers used to help to get the maximun drops, and i get that 1 drop always the same day even at almost the same hour (playing or idling).
Sometimes (rarely) i have got 2 cases but 1 of them always dropped the same day than last week.

P.S. so i have to pray to Gaben and RNGesus, xD .

Just play comp, or other modes and you'll get drops, usually they happen over the course of the week.

Agree with the idle servers, i use them less and less, but it helps when i am busy and i want to get that 1 drop of the week and i know i will not be able to play till next day (or when want to get all my chances to get a new case -haven't work xD-).
Also i play but i try to not play the whole week as i have other games and want to play them too xD (and idle servers help to get "playtime" without exceeding the XP once you can't get more without gaining another level -i know it is a bit complicated but that is how i do it xD-).
I play on casual modes as i think competitive is, well... too competitive xD, but i have also tried that when new cases released with same result (=no new case drop).
Don't know, maybe the problem is for using idle servers or just the system is this way.

Used idle servers before, got 3 cases per week as a rule. But i didn't get cases for last 3 weeks. May be i'm too unlucky or idle servers dont give cases anymore.
