I don't play this game. I do watch h3h3. I can't grasp the concept that people pay 100s of dollars for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ looking weapon. The skins in this game are one of the reasons I don't play it. Pink AK-47? no. When someone tells me this game is realisitic, I laugh. This gambling thing is redic.

Also SHOCKED that Lord Gaben is a Brony. WTF. The Terrorists have won.
One of the comments talks about how some guys 14 year old brother has wasted over 250 pounds on skins. That's like, $400. Insane.
How is it illegal to allow a 14 year old to pull a slot machine, but not to pull a virtual one?
It's vile and scummy and this needs to stop.
I live in Nevada, which is basically the only thing on earth next to Monaco in terms of gambling. I walk into casinos and see people addicted to these things, and to know that kids who aren't even old enough to drive yet are being enabled to do this just shocks me.

Well, think of it this way. The skins give revenue. Revenue equals more chances to make better content. Rinse repeat. Skins fund tournaments, and help make the game better. You don't have to play with skins, they add nothing to the game. I bought a knife because I liked how it looked. I'm not buying anymore skins. Now I just trade from time to time. It's just that so many people with addictive personalities play video games, y'know, for obvious reasons and end up blowing thousands of dollars. Honestly, opening a case from time to time is fine. But the excessive ♥♥♥♥ is really kind of creepy and it shows just how much gambling fuels gaming.

I also like how the Steam Marketplace got so bad that they require you to add an SSN (in the US) if you sell more than 200 items because it counts as a BUSINESS. A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BUSINESS. A TAXABLE BUSINESS.

On the latter part, that happens in EU too. We have to fill in some form for US taxation. In practice, it changes nothing for us though. A little bit weird they do that, but I guess the legal culture is a little bit "insane" over there, so they have to secure their backs?
