Is it worth it to get a 144hz monitor?

im currently using a 60hz 1440p monitor, if I upgrade to a 144hz that means dropping around $200-300 so is it worth it?

from 60hz, yes it is, though if you had a 120hz, not so much, if you get an unlocked one though, you can overclock it, i got mine running at 180hz right now, and gameplay feels buttery smooth.

The short answer, if you can comfortably afford it, is yes. Most people consider it a significant upgrade to 60hz (and 60fps), and the 144hz refresh rate lets you see a "true" 144fps. This is especially noticeable in games like Rocket League and CS:GO, but you'll likely feel uncomfortable playing on a 60hz monitor after you get used to it (a week or so?), and this can be bad if you regularly play at a friends house or whatever. However, it's 100% not necessary to have a 144hz monitor, it's a luxury and if you've never used one and can't comfortably buy one - don't, you'll never know what you're missing out on, and that's a good thing. :P

Edit: Like said above, if your PC is average or below average and does not get more than 60fps on games, getting this monitor will show no difference - you need to be getting at least 144fps for this monitor to be working at it's full potential.

its been noticable in pretty much every game i've played on, csgo, Rainbow Six: Siege, Arma 3, DayZ.

if you can reach 144fps+ you will notice the difference in any game.

Yes, if your PC can do 300 FPS in this game, 144hz is really a huge difference. It helped me jump from DMG to SMFC easily. The game really feels different and everything is a lot slower, specially when you're sniping, that I could hit 7/10 times if a player crosses DD in D2 without smoke/nade... TLDR, its worth it man, go buy 1.
