Does VAC [ Valve Anti Cheat ] Scan your USB?
Does VAC scan your USB for malicious files? Or does it only scan the hard drive and the rest of the PC? I had my USB plugged into my pc that has some exploits on a different game, i am afraid i will get VAC banned.

Why do you keep hacks on a flash drive?

Close this thread, i know my answer now and till now, i haven't been VAC banned at all. So it's confirmed (by me) that VAC never really scans your USB. That's my opinion though, I am not 100% certain about it. I made this thread when i was kind of new to the game (MG1), so i didn't really know much about VAC back then.

Just don't cheat is all i can say.

I don't think you understand how bad vac is. It only scans certain C:\ files (like dlls) and thats it. (if your main filepath is H:\ then it scans that, not C:\) Pros literally just have a badusb in their mouse or keyboard and cheat like that (just a flash drive that does executions like injecting files into a game). You could use a flash driva and as long as you use an undetected injector, you're fine. I personally don't hack anyway because it's pointless and boring. If I'm going to get good at a game I might as well do it legit. It's like thise people who ragehack to global. Like yeah you can hack congratz whats the actual point. You have no skill to the point where you need to cheat. But I can see if It's in like adventure capitalist or btd battles. Anyway in conclusion, you are safe.

Lets read this from the ESEA website.
The ESEA Client only accesses files which may be used to aid in the cheating process. Sensitive personal data is not being monitored or scanned.

They are talking about dll files here. Also you can hide your flash drive as drivers for your mouse so it isn't even scanned! If ESEA doesn't do it, chances are, VAC doesnt do it. I've seen instances of people getting vacced in TF2 for literally changing texture files (i thought new textures wouldn't be allowed unless sv_pure is 1 or 2) but I guess VAC is actually trash and band people for the wrong reason.
VAC only checks the game files it does not scan c: or d: at all.
nice old topic anyway.

No, VAC definitely does scan other files besides game files. If that was true, then how come it waits to VAC people. It cant possibly take longer than an hour to scan all game files. I'm pretty sure it checks things like dll files. I'll do some more research on it though.
why does the delay have anything to do with scanning files.

the delay is to make it harder to develop cheats.
VAC does not scan your files it only scans the active memory for known cheats.

I don't think you know what injected means, Because you said "Injected or not, If you run your hack"

If you inject a DLL, That means the hack is running.... So... Just stop talking about this topic if you don't understand it.
if i plug my ps2 into my computer 20 bucks says i get a vac ban

It doesn't do a full system check, but it definitely scans for at least dlls. If you use ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (free), you will get vacced in about 15 minutes. If you use lithium, you will get vacced in about a week. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ uses its own injector and for lithium you have to use your own. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is most likely vacced because of the injector and lithium is most likely vacced because of the dll.
the official FAQ talks about the core game files and gives DLL and exe files as an example.
VAC does not scan your disks at all only the active momory.

the delays are random.
your two cheat examples are beside the point they just confirm there is a delay.

This sounds like an attempted hack.

Just a heads up, when you run things from external devices, they do not run from those devices. They are put into your RAM for speedy access in which VAC will detect if it has been blacklisted. Just because you run it from a USB stick doesn't mean it's gonna stay there. Anything you run is sent to RAM for prioritization and use.

The point is that if it scans your computer, if it will find it or not. There are some undetectable injectors that VAC cant detect in the ram but the question is if it finds it in your system or in your ram. (I am debating for system)

Of course there are undetectable things. If Valve doesn't have it in place to be flagged upon scanning it's not gonna see it. I'm pretty sure VAC has a list of things that it looks for and if it hasn't be retrofitted into VAC it is "Undetectable." If it is detected by VAC and flagged as blacklisted it won't matter what it's run from (hard drive, USB stick, Network Storage). It will be injected into active files which are almost always in the RAM.
