Mac shortcuts trouble: [cmd + q] quit the game

Hi everyone,
I hope you could help me.


Since a week, I have problem with the default Mac shortcuts in csgo :

1) My push-to-talk is "command", and when I'm moving to the left, I press the "q" button (AZERTY keyboard) and because of the Mac shortcuts, it quit the game. This seems normal but it never happened before.
I can't change the quit shortcut for csgo in the Mac settings because csgo is launched through steam and is not recognized as an application itself. Because of that, I'm deconnected at least once in a game

2) The "ctrl" + "->" shortcut that switch between the desktops of the Mac is not working anymore in csgo, so when csgo is opened, I can't look at something else in the same time without quiting the game. This shortcut is always working in windowed but doesn't work anymore in full-screen.

Is there any solution to disable the "command" + "q" shortcut and to use the different desktops of my mac when I'm running csgo in full-screen ?

I've found this solution here :

You can re-attribute an other shortcut to Quit your game so "command" + "q" won't bother you again.

These steps work for me:

Open system preferences -> Keyboard
On the tab Shortcuts select App Shortcuts
Click "+" button, at Menu Title type:

Quit + <your CS:GO app name on menu bar>

For me it was:

Quit csgo_osx64

Select a new shortcut for quitting CS:GO, for example Cmd-Option-Q

And that's it

Some advice for the same problem with command + w?
By pressing command + w ingame recently steam starts quitting and i have to restart.
Tried to use the same method as mentioned for command + q, but couldn't get it.

Any advice pls? :/

I think you can do a similar thing as with cmd + q

Open system preferences -> Keyboard
On the tab Shortcuts select App Shortcuts
Click "+" button, at Menu Title type:

Close

Select a new shortcut for closing CS:GO, for example Cmd-Option-W

and that should work

Im on Big Sur 11.4, I tried adding the command Quit csgo_osx64 like you said but it doesn't work. Any idea? This Command W and Q are really annoying

Just check if your csgo is not in Windowed fullscreen mode. If so change it to fullscreen and restart the game. That's it

This is something you should change in your mac's settings and not something in csgo.

You are not right. In Windowed mode csgo starts behave like any other application on Mac, so it stops handling hot keys on its own
