you get a lot less VAC errors and files not matching and all those kind of errors if you do.
with any virus scanner.

AVG is trash, possibly even a virus in itself. Just use Windows Defender.

even with MSE or defender I get a lot less errors if I exclude the steam folder.

edit: if you have games installed in another location you need to add that location too ofcourse.

Considering the Steam Support knowledge management team list AVG as a program KNOWN TO INTERFERE with Steam, why do you run the two together? If you experience problems with having both runnning/installed, remove either.

To be detected as malware, CSGO orr required dependencies must either be:

1) Infected with malware
2) A false-positive based on heuristics/entry point analysis

You can verify the accuracy of a detection through the AV software by sending the binary file detected to the testing labs.
Within a week or so, you will receive a response and if clean, the detection will be updated with a subsequent definition update.
