Skins make you play better

Skins make you play better. Of course they do not effect your gameplay, but maybe its something psychological.
When you have a nice skin you have a better feeling while playing and can maybe concentrate more (or something like this) and more concentration makes you play better. Or do they distract more?
What do you think?

What OP said is that skins MAY help you "have a better feeling" such as confidence, which is a psychological factor. Do you play any sport on a competitive level ? If you do, you will definitely know what impact confidence has on your gameplay whether it's the sport itself or a game.

Bottom line, skins are useless.

As far as i understand is your opinion that confidence has a negative effect in playing/ doing sport. But i think its a positive thing because for example when 2 football teams play against each other, a team with more confidence has an advantage to a team which doubts themselves.

Exactly, maybe I wasn't clear, but I definitely was not pointing out that confidence is a negative factor. It's a HUGE factor into winning/succeeding in anything really.

Makes people play worse. Funny those noobydoobiedoos that buy an expensive knife and then run with their knife out 50% of the time, and try to knife people, which causes many hilarious deaths for them. It also affects their weapon choice, for example always choose awp cuz it's the most expensive skin / the one they like the most, so they even buy it in situations where it's better to buy other gun. Not to mention those that constantly press F to display their weapon to spectators, the sway of the gun distracts them (and also to press the button).

It also gives the owners a lack of drive to get better. When they have an expensive skin they already feel good / better in some way and will not try to be become better skillwise. Their main goal is to have the "best" skins instead of being the best.

I do not buy expensive skins, I only have skins I had as in-game drop and cheap stattraks (cuz I like to have the counter). As I do not care whether I play with an expensive or cheap skin, I don't get distracted by it, nor do I run out with my knife just to try show it off. No suprise that I almost never have negative KD, and I'm in at least 50 % of casual games the best scoring player of my team.

My most expensive skins:
Stattrak CZ75-Auto Poison Dart (FT) -> given to me by a friend so I'm gonna keep it

AK-47 Safari Mesh (FT) -> Drop, during the Katowice tourney i've pasted 4 of the cheapest team stickers on it for the lolz (cheap skin + stupid stickers) as a joke to people paying so much for skins. Now those stickers have some serious value lol.

M4A1-S Boreal Forest (FT) -> Drop, might paste cheapest Cologne stickers on it for the trololols of doing the same as with the AK.

When there are 0,03 value stickers avaiable I'll buy those to paste on regular (non-skin) weapons as a trololol for the same reason.

And btw, my csgo inventory is worth more than most people with expensive skins. (got 350+ keys alone atm)

No drugs, just starting psychology study :P

Skins can have a psychological effect in the sense of you enjoy them, this increases your enjoyment of the game and allows you to do better because you're in that zone and enjoying yourself.

It will not directly affect your skill but it's kind of like getting something to really help you get on your game in some way. Like if you go bowling and actually get your own balls or shoes you'll feel better and typically do better because you enjoy it more and gives a boost of confidence and ♥♥♥♥ like that.

Having a custom skin does give you a sense of pride and encouragement when playing although I can't make any claim that they may actually improve your overall performance. In fact they may actually hurt your performance. There has been several occasions when I recalled noticing the barrels of people hiding in spots only because they were using some bright camouflage that did not match their surroundings. Defaults and camo's that match the type of maps they are used on are the only REAL possibility of gaining any sort of edge.

This. This right here is why I CANNOT, for the life of me, understand why people like the Asiimov skins. They are super easy to notice, for me at least.
