120hz to 144hz
So i have right now a BenQ 120hz monitor. Im not sure the exact model but thats irrelevant. I just recently got back into CS Go and Ive been working pretty hard to rank up and to improve my gameplay. Ive been stuck at DMG or badge whatever you wanna call it for about a week now. Thats fine, i feel like thats the rank I should be right now and i need to improve more to rank up.

But my question is will i have a little more of a competetive edge by upgrading to the 144hz or just stick it out with my monitor i have right now. Im not the most computer and technical savvy person so any advice would be appreciated.

The difference is minimal. You wont notice it.

The human brain can only see 24 FPS, 12 FPS/eye, so any FPS over 30 is overkill.

Sure buddy cap your FPS to 30 then, idiot.

You are incorrect the human brain does not process anything in frames per second. That is pretty well known myth. Having more Hz and more fps will make a huge difference in how smooth the gameplay feels and looks. If you cant tell the diffeence between 60 and 120 fps you might be blind

Anyways I personally know there is night and day difference between 60 hz and 120 hz but have never owned a 144hz monitor. Anyone out there that owns one relay me some info on the subject

But as said, the difference between 120 and 144 is minimal.

Human eyes do not see in fps, but human eyes ARE logarithmic. I don't think anyone here can legitimately say that they could spot the difference between a 120hz monitor and a 144hz, except for the fact that 144hz monitors have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ colors, which would be more likely to put you at a disadvantage imho. For the record, I use a 60 hz monitor, which I feel is more than enough for Valve's 60 tick servers.

Ok thanks for the replys. I didn't really know too much about the advantages ill probably just be sticking with my 120hz monitor and invest my money elsewheere.

You do know that you can overclock your monitor to 144Hz right?
It worked fine for my BenQ XL2420T. But I am using DisplayPort. Not sure if it will work for DVI or HDMI.

I have the 144hz monitor by ASUS, And When I was playing at DMG with a 60hz and 5ms refresh I always felt like a bunch of kills on me were because I was too slow. I got the 144hz with 1 ms responce and the occurances minimized.

I own the ASUS VG248QE 144Hz monitor and it also has a 120hz mode, I have tested both out and yes there is a slight but small difference.

You're a moron, uninstall this game. recent cognitive neuroscience studies show the human eye(depending from person to person) can see up to 255 frames per second, which is why alot of poeple see a difference from 60 hertz to 120 hertz and to 144 hertz, and yes, you can train to see more frames a second but will halt around 205-255.
