Confused about M4A1/M4A1-S skins
I just got into CSGO. Picked up a few skins for weapons. I'm a bit confused about the M4 and silenced M4 skin. I can only select one or the other skin in the inventory. Why can't I have a skin for both? I play a lot of TTT and there are weapon pickups on the map. I have a gold coil skin for the M4-S but the regular M4 comes up as default skin. Is it how the game was made or am I doing something wrong?

They are different guns. You can only have one of the two in your buy wheel when in game. You can have skins for both, though, you just need to decide which one you prefer to use :)

You can own both skins but can only equip one weapon at a time.

Cuz they are different weapons, you have 2 options for the same loadout spot. Same as with 5-7 and cz75, u must choose before the Game starts which one u want to have available to buy in the match. As long as u choose M4A4 the M4A1-S wont be available to buy, and despite being very similar they are different weapons so the skins for 1 dont work on the other. If u want to use that golden coil u must right click on it on your inventory and choose "replace this in CT side". From that moment and until u change it u will be using M4A1-S golden coil when u buy it. Without the possibility to buy M4A4. Works the same way if u have múltiple skins for same weapon, having to choose which one u want to use.

M4 and M4-S are different guns? It's just an M4 with a silencer which you can take off. That affects the whole skin? Pretty sure Valve just wanted to make a quick buck by forcing gamers to buy or grind for 2 skins for 1 gun. Now in the case of 5-7/CZ75 or Deagle/Revolver, yes they are 2 different guns that use one slot. I have no problem with that. Pick your favorite and get the skin for that. But it's a bit annoying how putting a silencer on a gun completely changes the skin.

We are going to let you off because you're new, but the M4A1 is definitely not just an M4a4 with a silencer on it...

M4A4 and M4A1-S are not the same gun, different stats, models, and the obvious silencer.

Actually ın CS:S it was just an m4a4 without a silencer.
