Why Some Shots Miss
I've noticed while playing CSGO for quite some time that there are instances when you don't move at all, crosshair, target, or anything but one shot will miss and the other will hit even though the crosshair is in the same place. I was a bit curious about this and at first just accepted the whole, "64 tick" "bad registry" but I actually don't think this is the case. I had an idea of what maybe happening...

To test this I used an awp and got as close as possible to one of the bots that was standing still and zoomed in. The closer you are, the easier it is to see/notice and to guarentee that this is the issue.

Basically, even when you're stationary you're still constantly moving back and forth in somewhat of a swaying motion. This causes your character/target to move out of your shot in some instances by a matter of a few pixels, which makes it really hard to notice when farther away.

So as long as you shoot before the hitbox moves out of your crosshair/shot you'll hit... however if you're unlucky you'll miss as it moves out.

Please ignore that I recorded the video with my phone and not a recording software because of reasons.. lol

Lol!

That sounds interresting.

no kappa.. then all random headshots when not aiming on the head would make sense

Didn't you see the video by Nick Bunyun on Youtube ? If your enemies are facing sideways and you hit him to the head, the bullet won't register on the hitbox, but go through it.

its called recoil. just becouse u dont move does not mean its 100% accurate. but it can also be a bad server. bad inet connection. and so on

Recoil on an awp? Did you not even see the video?
Yes there are many factors that play into missing shots. However, even if you do everything right the character can still slightly move out of your shot causing you to miss. I am not stating that this is the only reason people miss but rather one of the reasons you miss that may not be all your fault.

I tested this on legs, shoulders, nuts, facing different directions, etc... hence the 400kills
Feel free to test for yourself. The fact is, the slight moving of your character while stationary does cause some shots to miss.

Do tell me more about first shoot with stationary scoped awp and how it shouldnt be 100% accurate.

It could either be small issues like micro mouse movement which caused you to either "miss" the shot or the game may have incorrectly registered it as while the recent fix has changed many things, it has also caused other issues.

This bug was fixed last week. Check ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ patch notes.

Theyre going to fix Hitboxes. This is a known glitch when an enemy is facing you sideways, the hitbox doesnt register some parts or is mangled in such a way that its not accurately represented by the actual model ingame, hence, your bullets go right trough them.

The mouse was never moved in this video. Feel free to test it yourself.
Also, if you're worried about you possibly ever so slightly moving the mouse.. unplug it and bind something like "enter" as your fire key. You'll notice that the characters themselves are moving, not your crosshair.

I don't think people are understanding that even while standing still the hitboxes are constantly moving.

If you watch the video, my bullet never went through the ingame model. However, the ingame model simply moved out of my crosshair while stationary.

pause the video at 0:04 and you'll see that while I never moved my mouse, the model itself is no longer in my crosshair and then at 0:05, the ingame model moves back into my crosshair.

I don't know why there are still these idiot people defending this game... any software can have bugs even gigantic companies like Google have found bugs in it from time to time. CSGO is one of them. How do you explain the player's weapon's barrel penetrating the wall and call it not a bug?

I noticed that too, but I believe it has to do with recoil and sensitivity
