Does more GHz help CSGO?
So I finally got my pc that i built to work (hooray!) and it had 3.1GHz and I was able to overclock to 3.8 GHz, will this help my fps in CSGO?

To note, this is an upgrade from my laptop that had 2.66 ghz

well, gigahertz is just speed. Speed doesnt equal performance.

It depends on the CPU. Core Processing Unit. If it has multiple cores, how good those cores are.

an intel Pentium 1 with 6 gigahertz processing unit is less powerful than a new Intel i7 with 0,5ghz.

If you are talking about an Intel or AMD build with a quite new processor, they do get more performance from small overclock. But not much due to CSGO using only two Cores at max.

Alright

But remember,

Intel is far superior in individual cores than AMD but cost more

AMD wins in the sheer amount of core available + cheaper.

Yeah because amount > quality is true when it comes to tech. Oh wait...

It's preferably to get intel for csgo as someone said it uses only 2 cores max?

Pretty sure -threads 4 makes it use all

You're confusing cores with threads.

2 core = 4 threads
4 cores = 8 threads

oh

i7 has 4 cores and 8 threads(virtual cores)
i5 has 4 cores and 4 threads
i3 has 2 cores and 4 threads

AMD should be similar. Like I said though, CSGO seems to use 1-2 cores max so Intel cores would benefit more as they're far superior individually.

AMD should win when it comes to graphic/photoshop/designing though as well as games that utilizes all the cores.

you are not right.... thats with intel's hyper threading fyi

logical cores is what you see when you have HT

core i7's have HT not i5's

also you will see in task manager phyical cores/or logical

Yeah, you can see logical and phyical cores in task manager
