Fps locked at 30-60. Despite just playing with 160 fps.
Long story short, just last night I was playing a competitive match on csgo, I was easily getting 160 fps no problem. We lost so I hopped off. About 30 minutes later I decide to hop on again, I sign into a friends account to test something but the fps suddenly dropped to 30. I decided to restart the laptop since this happened sometimes. After a restart nothing was fixed. So I sign into my account because I assumed it was launch settings. Same thing. My fps was locked at 30. I have tried a lot. Turning Vsync on and off. Updating drivers. Deleting folders and starting the game. Verified game cache. And this was just before the new recent csgo update. After deleting local files and reinstalling. I turned the settings down to low again. Fps was suddenly 115-130. Still not as good as 160 but it passed. I closed csgo and reopened, yet again 30-60 fps locked. I have been trying to fix this all day. I have updated all drivers updated windows and updated csgo. Nothing fixed it.

My specs are:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6500 CPU @2.50 Ghz 2.95 GHz

Ram: 16 GB

64-bit operating system Windows 10.

Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 (Notebooks)

I really don't feel like it's the drivers since I was just playing with them at 160 fps just fine last night. Then suddenly CSGO just drops to 30 fps. If anyone can suggest anything it'd be awesome. Thanks for reading this :D.

1. Make sure game dvr is turned off

2. If you're playing on a laptop then it may be overheating. Try moving your laptop to a cooler area or towards some fans or something.

I should have specified I did those things already haha. I have a cooling fan that does the job perfectly and I already had DVR disabled but it still did nothing. I have tried restarting once or twice just incase. Still doesn't work. Every other game runs just fine so Im sure the laptop isnt broken in anyway.

Edit: If DVR came with the new windows 10 update that I installed last night I already disabled it. If it didn't then I had DVR on even when I had 160 fps.

This is going to sound stupid but make sure that whenever you start up the game csgo doesn't automatically set fps_max 30

Just make it
fps_max 300
Or
Fps_max 0

Once again, just a stupid little thing but I just want go through one step at a time.

If you have laptop power saving mode on then turn it off. This will cap your FPS at 60 if it's on.

Laptop power saving is off and I can copy and paste my launch options if it could give you more info on what I have to work with.

-novid +gl_nullqueries 1 +exec autoexec.cfg - tickrate 128 +rate 128000 +cl_cmdrate 128 +cl_updaterate 128 +fps_max 1000 +fps_max_menu 300 +cl_interp 0 +cl_interp_ratio 1 -threads 2 -high +mat_queue_mode 2

Update: I JUST opened csgo to test out what No_Innocence wanted me to do. The fps is back at 200. I am very confused as to why. I guess I just had to be patient. Thanks for the suggestions! Sorry for wasting your time though since this seemed to just fix itself
