1440x1080 & 1920x1440 (4:3 stretched resolution question)???
So I understand that 1440x1080 can be stretched because the width is less the 1920(my monitor width res), HOWEVER when I go to 1920x1440, the width that I apply is the exact same as my monitor width resolution, instead shouldn't it be stretching upwards due to it being the same width but not the same height? How is it possible that you can stretch 1920x1440 horizontally?

1920x1440 is a 4:3 aspect ratio. Since you have a 1920x1080 monitor, the resolution is being scaled

What im trying to say is that, since the resolution is 1920 on both my monitor and the resolution shouldn't the width stay the same? Instead it should be stretching vertically to compensate for the missing pixels on the 1440.

Open this file and adjust everything manually: ..\Steam\userdata\[userid]\730\local\cfg\video.txt
"setting.aspectratiomode" "1" // 0 = 4:3, 1 = 16:9, 2 = 16:10
Select "0" if you have a 16:9 screen and want the 4:3 aspect ratio to stretch without black bars. You can also define height and width manually in that file. Easy peasy.

Edit: P.S. Of course, if you want it stretched, you need to select a width that is less than your monitor's native resolution width, like 1440 x 1080 px.
