I don't like being crushed by GEs every new seasons so no thanks for that. Experienced similar stuff in Rocket League.
I'm just a Silver II so I know I'm well below any skill level to know what I'm talking about but I would like to get some information from Valve about rank distribution, how to rank up (very vaguely even), or anything really.
The fact it's been such a secret black box for so long has lead to weird statements like "It's only MVP that matters" or "round wins > game wins" and a lot of other homebrew advice that's built on anecdotes and not data.
It has been confirmed by Valve, hoewever I agree that CS GO, in general, lacks a bit of commuincation.
Better communication on simple things like in game detailled info about cooldowns level, and daily ban would do great.
For the ranking system, the complaints you just made are fairly common in other ranking system, even well explained & well known.
The underlords system is really simple, 8 possible placements, bottom half loses some points upper half gains some. Nothing matters except finishing the game as 4th or better. It also doesnt matter against who you play, you gain the same points even if you beat a player 10 times higher than you. You also cannot lose a rank, its very very different from csgo.
Most people simply have REALLY bad perception about their own performance. People delete bad matches in their memory and only keep the good ones. Standard human psychologic behavior.
