Sure it was. Because "some people" implies an entire community and the download required pop-up is what... advertisement?

One of the oldest scam is with ts server ip and download required. Besides that, you just gave away your IP, which is totally a bad thing to do and even 11yolds know that. Come on, don't act all innocent. I have my own hosted ts server with a domain and I never give it for use, even if it's always open and ISP protected.
