ty for the reply !
When you change to unlimited:
Open console > type rate (it should tell you the numbers next) (example: rate 792712) > copy the numbers > close the csgo > Steam Library > Right click CSGO > Set launch options > Type +rate (numbers) (Example: +rate 732000) > OK > Play run csgo
(It will force to start in unlimited mode... also rate command was always in game.. VALVe added it in game menu when they changed values... earlier max rate was 128000 now it's around 700000
I don't know who to talk to about this, but my game is CONSTANTLY lagging out of nowhere. Random lag spikes. Does max acceptable game traffic bandwidth help with that, or?
Some of you are mixing Mbps with MBs. Megabits with Megabytes.
My connection is a 24/2 (24Mbps cap) which means it can DOWNLOAD 2.4MB/s. which means my connection can only use a MAX rate of around 198000.
This setting is tied to "RATE" setting ingame. Default rate is 196000 or around it, which means its defaulted to the 1.5Mbps setting.
you have 4.4 megabytes per second download rate. use the 2-3MB bandwidth rate, or set it to 400000 on rate with console, and youre all good.
NEVER let csgo use your whole internet, or more than the internet connection its capable of using. You will not see any lag yourself at max setting, but you WILL miss more shots since the server cant keep you fully updated on client pos.
my 24/2 connection (2.4MB download rate) is good with 128000 rate, or 196000 rate. but for me 128000 works better since i dont get any packet loss and the client of mine doesnt lag behind.
I have 4.14 download speed on speedtest.net (but really when I download games it goes only 400kbps) and 1 upload speed... I randomly get lag out of nowhere, will changing max acceptable thingy thing help with that, or am I just ♥♥♥♥♥♥? lmao
4.14MB download speed IS 400kb/ps. Remember, download speed is NOT the same as actual download speed. 4.14 Download speed is in Megabits. Download rate (ingame and when downloading stuff) is shown in Megabytes.
Bit and a Byte is different thing. people usually forget this.
4MB download speed is really slow for gaming, but should be enough. use a rate of 80,000 (without the ,) in console to set it manually to lower lag. it should use only around 100kb/ps of your internet connection, leaving some connection speed for other stuff on your computer (Steam, etc) so that it wont start lagging.
This bandwidth thing in console can be changed best trough it. NOT the ingame menu.
Open console, then write RATE 80000 and it changes the default rate of yours lower. Default rate is 197000, which might cause a lot of packet loss on bad internet connections.
Will this affect gameplay in any way?
