Haven't played the game in years, so i've wondered what changed with drops. Drop cap, weekly reset day, can you still drop skins or only crates now?

You get two drops a week: One guaranteed spray or skin and one case. You get the skin/spray when your XP level goes up, but the case is dropped randomly after completing a match in about 3-5 hours of playing. You can get a new drop after one week since you got your last drop, I think the reset is independent for the case and the spray/skin.

If you have CSGO prime you get new cases earlier, when they are worth more, so it's worth it to have that. Otherwise non-prime players usually get less valuable cases.

Well, this is dissapointing, especially the skin/spray drop only if you lvl up. Were good old days where you could get like 3 drops/week, even skins, by simply playing even on casual and sometimes even after a match.

You gain points for your xp lvl in casual, also gun game and some other modes, so I don't see a big difference, on the contrary it makes the skin/spray drop more consistent and predictable compared to the case drop. I usually get my skin/spray drop before the case each week.

If you want more drops you can always get a second account with prime, it will pay for itself in a couple months of playing 1-2 days per week. It's worth it if you are playing a lot anyway. Depends how much grind you can tolerate. It seems like drops did get nerfed, but if you think about it cases and skins are also generally worth more now. Active drop cases usually used to sell for under 0.10€, now they are 0.10-0.20€.
