(PROVE ME WRONG) Rank "re-calibration" was only based on a players previous rank at exact time of the update and completely ignored player stats and the massive issue this created in higher ranks.

Buddies and I went through hundreds of previous matches on leetify looking at players previous and new ranks. Findings below.

GN 1-2 > LE/LEM
GN3-4 > SMFC
MG+ > GE

The entire issue with players being stuck in Silver and GN was caused by a majority in those ranks having the wrong rank. That led to matchmaking thinking matches were completely balanced based on ranks when it was actually uneven. 1-2 players would constantly carry or matches were so uneven that it was a pug stomp. This went both ways so increases/decreases in ELO were "random" but consistently inconsistent. A win streak could be followed a losing streak simply because of random MM.

Valves solution to simply move the bell curve up has caused the exact same issue in SMFC/GE where the large majority of players are not actually SMFC/GE. There is a massive cope going around that the ranks will adjust and players will derank to their "true" rank.

I call BS... Please prove it. If that was the case, explain how there were so many GNs stuck in GN when they play like silvers? A: because the distribution was screwed and the majority were not in that rank.

In the couple dozen SMFC/GE matches I've played since the update nothing has changed. 1-2 people are carrying and 9/10 games are an uneven pug stomp (going both ways). I have a ~60% and all my wins are 16-7, 16-5, etc and my losses are the opposite. How is anything going to adjust if MM thinks every match is evenly balanced when they aren't??? The 60% wins I've carried 2-3 players who are true GNs to a win, increasing their elo. Isn't the entire point of MM elo that it determines your rank based on win/loss against others of the same rank?

My buddy was carried to MG and then took a break from the game for a week. My other buddies and I deranked to GN4 then the rank updated happened. Guess who is now GE with worse stats than everyone else in every category?

Also, if you are NOT in SMFC/GE right now and you're matches are balanced, that is good for you. I'm glad you're having fun getting out of silver but please don't comment on a high horse thinking that your experience proves the ranks will adjust. It doesn't

I can't prove you wrong. But I hope your assessment of it working itself out is wrong because the player based being spread around hopefully will have some impact on balance.

On the other hand welcome to what everyone experienced in gold nova for the past few years. It was stomp or be stomped with absolutely nothing in between.

well they will derank and the better players will stay in that rank. seems like a win win to me. i rather have good players have a fast track to the high ranks than them being in the low ranks and stomping.

Thing is everything above gn3 is no longer spread out and has all been condensed into SMFC/GE. All of my games have been insanely unbalanced. The only way people get unstuck in SMFC/GE is if the silver faceit lvl 10s climb the ranks to increase the number of true SMFC/GE's. Right now majority of SMFC/GE should be true novas. MM literally doesn't work when it's matchmaking people with the wrong ranks.

well when you get to the 1% of players, in a game with such a high skill ceiling like CS there is going to be huge skill difference between top players in GE.

tbf i was silver for almost 8 months, then gn1 temporarily for a week or so then silver again, now im gn3

If you look at any rank distribution for NA and put every GN3+ in Supreme/Global it's not the top1% anymore, it's the top 30%.

I think its quite ironic how a couple of days ago you were bashing the new global elites saying that you were global previously and would stomp the new ones, Just checked ur csgo stats, you were in nova 4 and mg1 barely. Also you say you stomp or get stomped nowadays, thats a lie. You have had only a couple 16-7 16-5 wins with quite a few 16-14 wins or losses and some ties as well. Stop the cap and my profile is private so dont try to leave a comment on my profile like you did with the guy that clapped you in MM.

As to the point of PROVING anything. No one can prove anything YET. The only thing that can happen is people play their main accounts and see where things shake out. I personally think it will in a few weeks, but I could be very wrong. I do scratch my head with some of the rank changes but, I absolutely applaud that they are doing something to fix where MM was.

I agree with what you said above. 1 or 2 guys on either team will absolutly STOMP on the rest of the lobby. Went from every game being close as fck before the update to being stomped or stomping a team each game

My stats? I was mg2-mge for over 2 years. You literally have 22 wins bragging about it.
