how do i not shoot myself in this game

with the bullet physics being the way it is, how is it that i'm not able to shoot myself? i'm very confused. somehow i've played over 1000 hours of this game and only now realized that it's not possible to shoot yourself. this makes no sense. when i shoot at the floor, it sometimes hits enemy players a mile away who aren't even on my screen. so somehow the bullets must curve upwards, sideways, etc. following this train of thought, it stands to reason that, occasionally, shooting a bullet should cause it to curve back around and hit me. so why have i never seen this happen? if anyone from valve happens to know why, please let me know. also if anyone has actually managed to shoot themselves, how did you do it? is there some specific spray "pattern" you have to use? ty

no i'm pretty sure he's talking about how the bullets tend to fly randomly. he's wondering why the random bullet physics never result in an accidental self kill. i've wondered the same thing before.... perhaps your own bullets do sometimes hit you, but are programmed to not do any self damage?

I don’t think that’s the case as it’s been explained to him already but that doesn’t appear to be what he meant.

bullets come from the front of the gun that you're holding in game, they're designed like real life guns (except without the aiming features). hope i helped

when i shoot in the game, i see a little animation of the bullet leaving the gun for a brief moment, just like in real life. that's called bullets coming from the front of the game

that's unrealistic and dumb. bullets should come out of the gun and should go where the crosshair is, so there's at least a little skill involved

they do come from the gun, play any game with guns the bullets all come from guns unless you play a futuristic game like cyberpunk or overwatch, then the bullets come from other places but csgo is a modern game so they come from the guns that youre holding (although you cant aim the bullets in csgo)
