Why Can The Enemy Team Report You For Griefing

I'm on probably my 10th of these week long bans for being falsely reported by the enemy team. When an enemy reports you, suspecting you of cheating, they often - wrongly - click every box (one of which is griefing) leading to a lovely situation where opponents can intentionally wrongly report you for griefing to give you week long cooldowns.

Why is this a feature? Who on earth designed this? Any player who is playing consistently well and isn't famous will eventually face this penalty from enemy reports. I queue a 5-stack nearly every game, yet I'm supposedly griefing.

For reference I am FaceIT level 10 (2400 elo) and ESEA A+. My MM rank is currently DMG and thus I am called a cheater relatively often. These opponents then report my account, ticking every box and eventually serve me with a griefing ban.

Yes there are, view the screenshot "you have received too many griefing reports". The 6 week griefing ban is via overwatch, however on reports alone you can be given up to a 1 or so week long ban.

Because it can be - and frequently is - seriously abused. The reports of that player's own team should already be enough.

Way to make assumptions, gj buddy. I deranked (in 5 queue lobbies) around a year ago in order to play with my girlfriend who was too low of a rank for us to queue with me had I remained my original rank.

I have not deranked for a very considerable length of time - even though I had entirely valid reasons to derank, forced upon me by the game itself - and my griefing bans are entirely unrelated to that. They are solely due to salty enemies ticking every box when reporting me, suspecting me of cheating.

PS: I can sh*t on Global Elites. I'm 2400 Elo on FaceIT for God's sake, that's about 3x better than the average Global - as shown by me frequently dropping 40+ kills in LEM+ (see my screenshots).

I'm also not saying you're being banned for deranking in the past.
I'm accusing you of lowering your rank on purpose to be matched against players who are much worse than you. You're soft smurfing ruining the enemies' games and we had that discussion just a few months ago...

I'm actually letting my gf play sometimes to try to avoid this ban :) My theory is if I get enough games without reports this will stop happening (or at least take much more reports to happen).

The only way I can avoid these bans without letting her play on my account is by intentionally playing worse to not be reported by the enemy players so often - which, ironically, would actually be griefing. Smurfing is absolutely not my intention, avoiding these bans is.

wouldnt that just get you more reports? just dont give people a reason to report you for griefing and try your best.

Why are you even bothering and posting here? You won't get anything except ad-hominem attacks or "deserved ban" answers.

And tbh I personally gave up, theres nothing much to do. Letting players decides if you should play MM or who do you deserve to be with/against (trust factor) isnt fair much so I just uninstalled the game.

I saw this game evolving, being at its HQ peek but since they made it F2P it slowly went down, bad decisions after bad decisions (even though it is not F2P anymore now)...

Theres still same (or more) players than before but yeah, it is pretty much dead imo as for its low-quality.

Seems like your theory is a bust and some what deserved. I personally would hate to get someone who was playing rank letting their little brother/gf/LESS EXPERIENCED friend hop on to play. When I que into rank, I would prefer the teammates I have are at the same skill level as me (especially since I was higher ranked).

So the ban seems justified 'cuz no one should have to put up with someone goofing off. Just play casual if you want to have people use your account.

I can't tell if you are trolling or illiterate. We are queuing as 5 and I am still playing, just on an alt account. We are in no way impacting teammates when she plays on my account as we play a 5 stack with friends. My theory is not bust, when I have my gf play it consistently takes considerably more games before I am given a cool down.

No one is goofing off, learn how to read and you might understand what I have been saying. Seriously, I cannot stand people coming in with such strong opinions whilst lacking basic reading comprehension and spouting their babble.
