40 years old and still trying to achieve global elite
My friend told me that I need to find some people who regularly playing cs go like me to even have a chance to rank up. My whole play is based on solo queue, the most high rank I had was Legendary Eagle. I like to rush with p90, recently I started to play with AK. I don't know any advanced smokes or molotovs and I always play strictly Dust 2 and Inferno. Never did any warmup prior to match. Not long ago in one of the matches some guy was started to make fun of me in terms how many hours I have and still gold nova 4. It seems they like you to feel inferior, they say patience come with aging, in my case not, I shot him and received cooldown. Any advice would be very welcomed. From this point it seems like an impossible task. Thanks!

The good thing about video games is that they're accessible to everyone and anyone can progress and reach goals despite their age.

I'm probably not the best souce of skill advice, but if an 80 year old woman can regularly kill dragons with a battle axe in skyrim, and 50+ year olds can easily dominate people in TF2, a 40 year old can get good enough at CS:GO to stomp some kids.

Just having the patience to play mm is already a victory. Nowadays I only play deathmatch.

Its pretty easy to keep your mind young, at least up until the age of 50, probably

I don't think the reaction time changes much....older players can research which mouse and keyboard are the best to give them advantages

Supplements, stuff....helps

I mean I'll queue with you but I don't know what my rank is. I have no rank. I do know how to play decently

I soloed to Global tbh... so it is possible... but you have to have a good TF and also have a little luck with communcative and positive teammates.

Well. You already summed up the things you need to work on. Of course most globals also don't know basic smokes and stuff like that since you can get global with just having good aim, but it is easier to learn util, play woth premades, learn actually useful weapons, work on your patience etc.

But getting global isn't worth it, you don't get anything out of it. Also Chess Matt is right, the higher you go up in ranks the more cheater you'll meet which is also easily explained by common sense because cheater are more likely to win and thus rank up. It's simple statiatical thinking.

You should just have fun - and when you want to reach a rank, ignore that and instead focus of improving your skill. The rank comes with it.

Well, he isn't wrong you've to admit. You were global but your stats are not that good. You should recognize that yourself and come to the conclusion that you are lucky to have nice teammates and that the system doesn't take personal performance into account a lot.

That is not how the ranking system works. It uses a point system and ranks are a point group. Each game will give oe take points off of it.

When you don't play for 28+ days your rank decays, it is not visible anymore and you lose points, even so much that quite often people got a rank worse than they had before the decay came into place after playing again.
