CS:GO "Griefing Reports" Warning for doing nothing?
So I got yesterday for the first time of my whole CS:GO Carrer a "Griefing Reports" message and absolutely I dont know for what or why because i didn't play CS:GO for 1 Year straight and no one else installed via my Steam Account CS:GO.

I was told yesterday that this is supposed to be a new CS:GO update, where you get such a message after only a few Griefin reports from other players and it supposedly does not matter if you did anything at all or not, players just report because it is fun for them to set all the checkmarks and the reported player gets the warning or penalty for it.

Now I do not dare to play CS:GO because I'm afraid to get an unfounded Griefing Ban although I really do nothing, my TF is green and otherwise I'm always the friendliest player, so I'm even more surprised that I got such a message, where I never only approach Griefing commit.

I now make another 1 week break to see if the Griefing status resets otherwise I do not know how I get no Griefing Reports message, if I do nothing.

Have you also had experience with this?

So can I now safely continue playing or do I still have to be afraid of being reported for griefing for no reason and either getting the next warning or getting a cool down directly.

One of my mates has already been globally muted several times because he is too good at the game and because he always gets reported directly for every point in the report selection because the players who report him don't even think about what they are reporting him for but because their frustration is too big and give him directly as said every point in the report selection.

He has been globally muted 20 times but only now got his first griefing ban although he does nothing but being good in the game.
if you can, just continue playing but dont argue with anyone or shoot teammates, you'll be fine:steamhappy:

All I know is that you don't want to end up with a grief ban. Once I got my first one they did not stop. False reports from people thought I might cheat and just tagged all report options gave me ban after ban. Or just regular grief reports if I was doing not so good. So either way if I had a bad or good day in cs:go I was getting another ban from false reports, because no one really checks them and it gives you punishment automatically. I'm on few 2 weeks from false reports strike. I just play with someone from my friend list now to reduce risk. Still there is possibility I get a ban from reports of salty opponents. So I wish you not getting into it, not a pleasent situation, although my trust factor did not change seems to me.

you either get muted for griefing or someone you reported got banned. i don't think there's any other way to receive a message like that

One of Mate got already a Grief Ban for being too good at this game and only because others thought he was cheating, he was reported for cheating and griefing and now he got his first Griefing Ban for doing literaly nothing..

Yeah, that's absolutely possible, system just seems to consider amount of reports without any further check. You can't even complain to support about it in any way since bans don't get answered in support section.

Griefing cooldows don't reset.
Griefing cooldown system is separated of regular cooldown system.
The first level is a warning message, the second level is 1day cooldown, the highest level is 14days cooldown. These levels never reset or get lower.

And here you're already wrong because the first Cooldown is already 30 Days and the second goes everytime 1 Day higher when you get banned again.
That sounds like i could never get banned for ever i mean your 14 Days will also be over again at some point?

Oh so you say the Griefing Cooldown will be over at some point and doesn't degenerate into a permanent ban?

You got a griefing ban because you're boosted. You have a KD of 0.6 at LE and regularly queue with better players. So people will report you.

It also doesn't help that you've repeatedly played with hackers...repeatedly. You played with one VAC banned player 123 times. So your trust factor is probably appalling, which could easily lead to being more sensitive to reports than most players.

I know MM isn't nearly as serious as Faceit or anything like that. But you're still going to get reported for griefing in the higher ranks if you're boosted, aren't using communication, and aren't listening to your team. Honestly though, you just need to make a new account. Playing so many games with hackers has bricked it.

EDIT: Turns out, they (as a group) purposefully went AFK so they could derank. So the grief reports are 100% deserved.

The 5 weeks cooldown for griefing is unique OW cooldown for "Minorly disruptive". The second one "Minorly disruptive" is considered a permanent game ban.

Automatic griefing cooldowns have highest level of 14days and never become permanent.
But still you can't decrease your griefing cooldown level unlike regular ones.
