What is baiting and why is it bad??
4 in 5 games I topfrag and then get accused of being a "baiting noob" almost every time. What is baiting and why is it bad? We usually win these games but I still get called a noob.

Baiting is when your in front of another teammate and you suddenly stop for no reason while you other teammate runs past you and gets killed.

its not bad, its very important and helpful, because you rather going to win if your bad teammate dies instead of you xd

the better player should stay alive

It is if you use teammates as a distraction to get kills.

It's pretty much an excuse some people use whenever they make a poor tactical decision (running blindly into open areas, for example) and die while you decide to wait behind the door for another five seconds and survive. Always fun to get chewed out/kickvoted by some moron who can't hear footsteps and learned to play CS:GO with Stevie Wonder.

it depends, there are good and bad kinds of baiting

luring an enemy so that your teammate gets the kills even if it means you might die is the good kind

calling people to a site and waiting for them to run in first so that you might get easy kills or just to cover your own ass is the bad kind.. this is probably what they refer to

Baiting is using your teammate as 'bait' to distract an enemy while you get an easy kill.
There is good and bad baiting
good: low health teammate, maybe no rifle. tell him to bait the enemy, you can knock out say an awper for the cost of a 20hp teammate with a pistol.
bad: not telling teammates you are baiting them, or just letting them die without trading kills to get away because you dont want to die.

good examples there, too often people use the bad kinds of baiting, its horrible to play with those people.. some think that their individual score will make them rank up faster than the teams full score

Baiting is stupid. If you're teammate goes aggresively play, then why don't you just help him?

Good examples of good and bad baiting here. And while individual score matters to some degree, rounds won count more. The bad kind of baiting will result in more rounds lost, and therefore causing ranking upnto be slower or not happen at all.

That, and youre a complete jackass if you let your teammates die for personal gain. Its a team game people, act like it.

If he does a stupid move, why not just dont do it? If your team mate jumps into his own molotov, would you take a bath in there too?
I feel like there's a bit of a misuse with the term 'baiting', especially in the silver tier. There were many times where I either had max hp, or relatively low hp (20) for example, then when a teammate runs in front of me, I get called out for 'baiting'... meanwhile, I'm just thinking to myself: look, I'm not about to shoot an enemy with a teammate right in front of me, and risk getting a competitive cooldown, ESPECIALLY since friendly fire is enabled.

If possible however, I would try to aim just a bit to the left or the right of the teammate without spraying, doesn't mean I'm gonna be able to get the enemy down knowing my terrible aim.

Anyway, just thought I'd give my thoughts on how the game has changed during time that I've spent in the silver tier since... January of 2015 I believe.
