I just unlocked csgo with steam++. Will my achievements be blocked

pretty sure they mean achievements, and no, unlocking achievements will not give you a vac ban

I haven't heard that using SAM or other ways to unlock achievements would've led to a ban but I'm still curious as to why someone would do that to begin with.

I've heard some do it to look more legit if their intent is to cheat in a game or use the account for scamming. I don't understand why else you would do it either. I pride myself in taking time and effort to get hard achivements and i would see it as cheating if i used an external program to unlock it.

It does quite the opposite, having all achievements in CS:GO is a big red flag that you're a cheater. Even many pros don't have all the CS:GO achievements, because some of them include playing a ridiculous amount of casual matches, which not many people do, and rescuing 1000 hostages, which rarely actually happens on hostage rescue maps. Even more obvious, Steam shows you the 5 most recent achievements somebody unlocked in a game, and if you do it with SAM, it will unlock them in any order. If one of your last is an achievement about getting kills with X weapon, that's a dead giveaway that you cheated because CS:GO also has an achievement that unlocks after finishing all the kill achievements, which would naturally be unlocked at the same time as one other kill achievement, and that's not the case when you use SAM.

Not to mention another obvious thing, if your profile is public enough to view achievements, people can just see that you unlocked every CS:GO achievement on the same day, so obvious cheater there too

It apparently does not lead to a ban from what I've heard, but it's definitely something I'd never risk doing. Seems like a really silly thing to even risk if you do it wrong. No one cares about if you have all achievements and in my experience, the people who do have all achievements usually ARE cheaters.

Yea. I tend to be more sus about people that have obvious cheated achivements. I guess some people doesn't bother to check whenver they were unlocked
