People can reach global in less than 500 hours of active and serious training, while you need at least 12.000 hours of even more active and way more serious training to be a pro. Just one example: Monesy, a 17 year old guy who went pro recently has more than 16.000 hours.
This video explains it quite well:

To achieve that, he must have had to play almost 3 years 16 hours a day. I kind of doubt that 16000 hours is the actual ingame time.
He plays since he's 9 or so and got full support of his family, was in the navi academy.
Also many pros and those who want to go pro or subtain their level play 10+ hours a day.
I was just trying to put 16k hours into perspective, it didn't need to be 3 years for real. Playing for 8 years with that amount still leaves it at 5,7 hours everyday on average. I kinda think it sounds weird for a little kid to be invested this much on a game, when he has barely started school education. But I can imagine that Russian families also need the money, so them pushing him for their own good doesn't seem unlikely either.
I also play WoW since 2004 and have 30.000 hours in that game aswell.
Next to that I completed my whole education path including university and work in my dream job in a super company. I also play football in clubs since 29 years, at least 2-3 times training and one game per week. I also had beautiful relationships(more than half of the time of my adult life) and have a healthy connection to my family.
Nothing came shortin my life which I regret. I don't go to parties but LAN parties because they actually make fun for me. So it wasn't uncommon flr me to have a football game friday evening and after that went to a LAN til sunday evening, that's nearly 48 hours of non stop playing. I have a lot of energy - and only need 6-7h sleep as I said.
So on average I play like 6-7h per day, statistically, in reality it's not spread up, there are many weeks whereI don'tplay a second from monday til friday but then 48h (with little breaks, usual LAN environment).
And that was all before teenager actually had an accepted profession clled "eSport gamer" who earn millions.
You shouldn't judge anyone based on the playtime as if those have nothing else in their life - sadly some always have to judge others. Imagine I'd judgepeople who non stop party from friday til sundays, puke multiple times becauseof alcohol and ither drugs. That's what most others do. I prefer gaming. Healthier, more positive for the brain and body.
I like how this is suddenly about you, as if your "path" was identical to what pro players do.
