Poor Performance(GTX 1060, i7-8750H)
Hi guys! I recently bought a new laptop from PCSpecialist. It is the Recoil II model with a GTX 1060, i7-8750H, and 16gb RAM.

I decided to try out CS:GO to see what performance would be like, however, results were quite disappointing. At 1080p, with all settings turned to low, I achieve 60-150fps on Dust 2 (Very inconsistent framerates).

I do have my charger plugged in, so power saving mode and such shouldn't be an issue so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? Is it my ingame settings that require tweaking or maybe Nvidia settings. Any help would be very much appreciated since I am quite out of ideas. Thanks!

Put these in your launch options along your other commands
-noaafonts -cl_forcepreload 1 +fps_max 0 -high -nod3d9ex

You could try different mat in console

mat_queue_mode -1 (default)
mat_queue_mode 2
mat_queue_mode 1

Cheers mate. I'll try this tonight. :)

check nvidia settings make all 2 fast

I'd prefer not to make my game look like garbage of it all possible, considering I'm running a GTX 1060. x'D

Guys, while running cs, my integrated GPU usage is 15%, and my 1060 is 3%. I know people say the game is quite CPU dependent, but it should be using more of my GPU than that right?

If you are using GeForce Experience, get rid of it. It is complet bloatware and would otherwise be considered spyware.

If you are using any OC software for the GPU, use MSI Afterburner in stead. Make sure that you are on driver version 416.16.

Other contributions to your issues include outdated autoexec files being used as well as outdated Launch Options.

Also make sure that you are plgged into a wall when playing the game and that the game is not set to Laptop Power Savings Mode.

Mmhm, I'll uninstall geforce experience when I get back home. I'm not currently overclocking my GPU since I'm using a laptop. I'm not currently using any launch options, nor autoexec files.

I don't think so. The CPU is always under 60C. Thermals are great in my laptop

My Video Settings: 1920 x 1080 Very High
PC: i5-8400, 2.80 GHz, GTX 1060 3GB

I have about 200 fps every time, plus minus 10 (190 - 210)

1. check in the control, devide manager and look if intel hd graphics are enabled, if so, disable it.

2.check if prefer maximum performance is turned on in power management mode, it's on your nvidia control panel.

3. your cpu might be getting too hot and that significantly reduces performance.

Just some troubleshooting that might help.

Intel HD Graphics are enabled, however, I am using a laptop and I heard disabling Intel HD Graphics isn't a good idea as it is used for screen scaling and such.
Maximum performance in Windows is turned on, I cannot find such a setting in the Nvidia control panel.
My CPU is always under 60C, and works fine when playing BF1, Witcher 2, and Witcher 3
