"Enhance pointer precision"
Got a bit of a question here,

I had a bit of input lag in my games due to having V-sync on and the only way to remove the input lag was to have V-sync off, I could achieve this easy enough, But i found recently an option in mouse properties in windows called enhance pointer precision and when i untick that a lot of the input lag goes away and I'm just left with the fact i have a high DPI mouse and just have to set the in game mouse sensitivity right (which i now have).

My question is, What is "enhance pointer precision"? does it do anything? windows seems fine? my other games are fine?

The only game this option has any effect in is CS:GO.

You really want that precision s*** off. It's mouse Acceleration. Bottom line = it'll Screw your aim because how far the cursor moves depends on how fast you move the mouse.

Consider looking a a doorway, bottom left corner. Move the mouse say 3 inches across your mouse mat....slowly. See where the cursor is on the doorway. Move it back to bottom left corner and now move mouse 3 inches across the mat to your right QUICKLY. Cursor will be further than before.

In competitive games you don't want something changing how it works. Screws up muscle memory..

No idea why you feel less latency, Maybe try adaptive Vsync? what hz is monitor and what fps do you get? If you have 120+ hz display just turn Vsync off. most people don't notice much , if any tearing, as the image refreshes so quickly. Even if you only manage 60 fps 120+hz helps

Oh I'm 37 years old and the game is too fast for me, So i have V-Sync on to slow things down to help me aim, If i try and go too fast i can't hit people and i lose worse, But when i go slower at least i can either do some damage or get a kill or two.

I can't play faster anymore, So i have to try and play smarter.

<--- 42 health issue, body attacks my nerves, vision can be iffy, left hand partially screwed, little and ring finger drift by themselves so slide of the keys and bobbing left/right is soooo slow. I can still whoop some enough I get accused of cheating lol.

high hz = smoother not so much faster. Though I suppose as you'll be seeing more data it could be interpreted that way. If you have 120+hz display and can get high fps instead of going with V-Sync try just capping fps lower. Half hz. so 144hz display cap at 72fps, 120hz display cap at 60fps

What'll happen is you'll see frames twice so it should still feel smoother but you're not getting extra info. Counters what most want which is more info more often as it help in competitive but that may work better without the latency

Console command would be fps_max or max_fps

EDIT: Oh and be vision being affected I've had an attack last year causing Optic Neuritis that completely blurred my entire vision in left eye. May as well been weaing an eye patch. Got accused of cheating and came top playing Demolition a few times. And no I wasn't cheating :D just lots of practice going back to the original CS

I guess you're just used to it, Probably because you play a lot more and have learned quite a few skills.

I enjoy strategy games more than first person shooters and play CS:GO and TF2 now and then, What puts me off CS:GO is some of the bad things people do, like if i have a high score and some one has a low score and there's bugger all time left in the deathmatch server and it's just me and them, They would quit and i wouldn't get the points for all the playing i did.

And once i was playing and had quite a few points, Some one joined and started a vote kick for no reason, Because it was just me and them it failed, Then they started another vote kick and some how all these votes came out of nowhere like there were 9 players in the game.

Things put me off this game...

Deathmatch is all for all. Doesn't matter if any player quits. you stay till the end and you get points. Think you're mixing up modes.

If you're the only one left on the server you don't get points.

Really? Shows how much time I spend on Deathmatch. Even when I've payed it on and off over the years I've never been the only player.......no matter the mode I tend to quit if player numbers drop significantly. Hate bots. Thanks for the info though

Enhance pointer precision is a option that should be completely removed out of windows and anywhere. You do not want that, cause it only make you less accurate.

But btw, if you have raw input on, ...LIKE YOU SHOULD HAVE. It doesnt matter what windows mouse setting you set, it will be ignored by csgo, except in the menus.
