Why are Music Kits so bad?

First off: this is 100% serious.

Music kits are undeniably ♥♥♥♥, the "music" on them is ♥♥♥♥ to the point where whoever chose the tracks should be fired from their job and stoned. (especially that ez4ence one, it really justifies the stoning part)

2. The ONLY way music kits would be good is if u could put a mp3 on them yourself or chose 1 from like Spotify or Soundcloud with from > to time... so why isnt that the case and why do the current abominations exist????

And StatTrak music kits.... a whole new universe of pathetic

No Im just wondering why they are so bad and the selection of songs pure cancer, when valve could easily make them to be good

most cs players are from EU, kinda makes sense for the music to be a little polka-disco-metal, some songs are alright, but i don't want to listen to music while playing fps games, especially if it's gonna be so ******* distracting, which is why i chose to turn off music entirely to avoid ear ****

Music has to be licensed for use so the artists get a cut. That agreement has to be made between valve and the artist and has nothing to do with what you want to listen to.

the only valid one for me is the bbno$ one, all the rest sucks. To all the ones who uses heading to the source as a kit, clean your ears, gosh a MR. Professor music kit by Cochise would slap so hard

I think it comes back to a licensing issues and bad choices. There are multiple Song snippets I like from the kits when someone gets mvp... however, in-between rounds, the music that plays when from my kits when I die, in loading screens, and the music in the main menu are almost all awful. For instance, I used to listen to Awonation songs years ago, so I thought I would like that one. The only snippet I enjoyed from there is Sail. Everything else makes me want to switch to the original cs2 music and sell all the music kits I've tried.
