What is aim punch and tagging?
In competitive I noticed that when being shot sometimes my character flinches. At first I thought it was to indicate freindly fire but after reasearching some more I found I was wrong. I have also noticed that when being shot my character slows down significantly and supposedly this is referred to as tagging. Can anyone explain in detail what both of these are and how they can be avoided. I searched on Youtube but I couldn't find any good videos. (current videos that is, I guess it was changed in a update.)

Tagging : when you get shot you'll slow down
Each weapon have their own tag value

Aim punch : when you get shot you'll flinch
All weapon have the same flinch value (I think)

basically this is it. and when you flinch your recoil and acc are set off for a second while you regain recoil and acc stamina.. it litterally looks like somone punched your characters head as if they are trying to regain thier balance and vision in the crosshair . its normally only like a 1 second snare/slow/screen manipulation ... and then you regain speed .. as for when and HOW it hapens and why... iam still not completly sure.. iv seen it happen at all givin times with almost any gun.. some more noticable than others.. and somtimes i go games without even noticing an aim punch..

mind you this can also be manipulated in console with commands to rise and lower the values of the punch and all other variences of it.. but as to its default actions . iv never really stood there and tested every wich way and spot and speed er watever you could get aim punched at....

honestly its only really noticable when it slows your run speed down when your trying to cross mid er somthing or trying to scramble into cover as somone shoots at you.. oh and when you get hit with a headshot that leaves you with BUDDAH 1 health

it also depends if you wear a helmet or not. aimpunch with helmet is reduced while on the other hand suffering from aimpunch without a helmet is a huge difference

Not entierly correct, aimpunch is offset by Kevlar, the helmet only applies to headshot aimpunch effects.
