Didn't had to waste my time writing a book to make people agree with me
don't even need anyone to agree cause its a fact.
Can't agree enough with this. What I always loved about the game is that it feels fair. When you start a new match, everyone is just the same. You got the same chance at winning since the beginning as the other team.
This is not so in other games such as Valorant or LoL where the concept of counters exists and can lead to games where one side is technically at an advantage.
This is not the case however in game such as Overwatch where the composition can be changed at any time, again resulting in a more of a fair situation.
tldr
Feel free to have fun overthere then,
I am not forcing you to change your view, I just want to have a friendly debate with someone who has a different opinion than me and maybe try to get them to see some things through different eyes.
I will not insult you, and I expect the same from you if you decide to continue with it.
I will make my arguments with (in my opinion) fair criticism and genuinely try to understand your point of view, and I expect the same from you, in other words, I will not lie or deliberately misunderstand your arguments to gain an advantage.
That being said, let us begin
You start talking about the marketing strategy.
I have to agree with you that Valorant's marketing strategy was much better than Cs:Go's. But the time when the two games were released is totally different (around 10 years), and a lot of things have changed in 10 years, for example:
Cs:Go gained much more attention due to big events like majors, big teams moving from Cs Source to Cs:Go, and new teams taking the opportunity to grow. The game may have had a bumpy start and a miserable marketing strategy, but these things, along with the introduction of in-game skins and big revolutionary events like Opperations (something like the Dota2 Pass at the time), helped the game gain a lot more fans and followers.
Now Valorant has built its marketing in a questionable way. I remember getting hyped for it, it worked. But I also remember many people selling Keys to those who could not get it. It's a bold claim to say that Riot did not know about it, because they knew very well.
I agree with you on the point that the agents add more variety to the game. It would be really hard if it did not, because there are a ♥♥♥♥-ton of agents. But cs:go with only 5 grenades brings much more variety than these agents, allow me to explain:
The "sky box" (the boundaries of the map through which nothing can pass) is much smaller than Valorant's, which allows players to use smoke, flashbangs, Molotovs, and HE-grenades creatively and effectively. This can be less realistic, but brings a whole new strategy and balancing to the game.
Valorant agents are weird. First, I have to say something to people who may not know, but the game was advertised with the saying "Abilities do not kill". As I said, they add variety to the game, but they are done in a weird way where it's not the abilities that complement the gunplay, but the gunplay that complements the abilities. This creates a strange hierarchy where the new agents counters the last. A good example of a class-based shooter done well is RainbowSixSiege. There, you have characters that you unlock by playing or paying, but their abilities are basically useless if you do not know the map, do not know how to use a weapon properly, do not know how to work with your team, etc. But with Valorant, if you choose Jett, you are basically playing alone and if you choose Viper, you are useless without your team. And in my opinion, just hitting LMB with Raze to kill an entire team, or hitting LMB with Brimstone to throw smokes or even kill 3 people who are on the bomb site is not the deffinition of skill.
You say that cs:go is rarely updated... This is simply wrong.
I will not even elaborate on that, because you can just read the patch notes and the timings. Also, the game frequently adds and removes maps from the map pool, and there are some major updates that comes with the operations.
The VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) can be really bad, and the fact that the game is free did not help much. But now I'll say why cs:go along with VAC is better than Riot's Vanguard:
First, it's non-intrusive and does not have kernal access, so the chances of you getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by a hacker are minimal. Vanguar, on the other hand, has kernel access, and if you know even a little bit about code, you know that no code is 100% secure. So if someone discovers a hole in Vanguard's system (which is not hard), everyone who has it is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
On a different topic, but still on cheaters: another thing that helps cs:go is the trust factor (I will not go into it, but it's just a way for the game to match you up with people who are just like you) and the fact that the game separates free players from Prime players. In Prime matchmaking (at least for me) I very rarely find someone who is actually cheating, most of the time I just get mad and call the person a cheater in the heat of the moment. And in non-Prime matchmaking you can still build a good trust factor and play with other legitimate players, in fact, I have played with many friends who do not have or had Prime accounts, and because of their green trust factor, we very rarely encountered cheaters. So either you have a bad trust factor, or you are playing for free with a recently created account.
And I honestly found more real cheaters on Valorant than on cs:go.
I do not remember there being a game-breaking glitch in cs:go since I started playing (around 2017-2018). The only 5 game breaking glitches I can remember were 3 map glitches, one model/animation glitch and the last one was that you could spawn anywhere on the map.
The 3 map glitches were:
You could het on top of some pigeons on Train.
The Olof boos on Overpass.
A spot in the middle on Mirage where you could stay iside a building
The animation glitch:
If you crouched, jumped, and then released the crouch button mid-jump (while you were in the air), it looked to you like you were jumping normally, but to the other player you were crouching.
Spawn glitch:
Sometimes you could not return to your spawn and start the round where you were at the end of the round.
All of these glitches were quickly fixed by Valve, and it's very rare these days for someone to find other glitches.
The same can not be said for Valorant. There were glitches where you could go out of bounds on any map, glitches where the game just stopped working without counting down the time, glitches where the hud just disappeared and many more that I do not want to list because I am too lazy, but if you want you can ask me and I would name them without any problems.
Riot does not give a damn about the community. I see a lot of people saying really good things that could improve the game, but Riot does not listen and just keeps adding more skins to the game.
Do you want some examples?
The gunplay, it's just RunAndGun.
The maps are no fun
You can not create your own maps
You can not create community servers
THERE IS NO REPLAY SISTEM!!!
And if you want I can say much more, I am just too lazy now
You are just wrong... Just kidding, I do not understand what you mean with
"For example, Riot releases a new map about every 6 months(Maps). This encourages players to understand the new map and take it in before the next update. In contrast, CS: GO updates are small and few and since Valve does not take criticism well the game is inept to growing"
With the end of Pandemic and the majors returning to their original format, cs:go is getting much more attention than before. The game is better than ever, and to the chagrin of Valorant players, it seems to be getting even bigger.
