Lag spikes only in CS:GO?
Starting about a month ago, I started getting random lag spikes in CS:GO. It doesn't happen in any other game I play. I know it's not a hardware issue, I've got high end parts. I've tried switching between my 5 and 2.4GHz networks. I've even got a new wireless receiver and have moved it around. This is only happening in CS:GO. Is there some issue that started recently? Any tips?

I have to deal with the same stuff again now that I am on wireless. I haven't found a solution for now but the last time I had this problem, it helped to deactivate the automatic background scan for available wlans in the area. Even when you are connected to your wlan, your pc is refreshing the list of other networks every 1 or 2 minutes or so. This usually goes unnoticed, but csgo somehow can't deal with the sudden latency spike.

Same, I get ping spikes and raised ping (50-90) during mm games. In faceit I never face this kind of issue. I doubt it has anything to do with my wifi/connection since I have perfectly fine ping on other steam games. First their Anti cheat, now bad servers? :steamfacepalm:

I also don't have an issue in other games. Also weird that it started only about a month ago. Never an issue before then.

To some extent it's likely just Valve's servers. If the SV values in netgraph go yellow or red, you know it's a Valve issue.

Apart from that, you can try turning off Steam overlay, and make sure you don't have Nvidia Experience running.

Always ask other people in the server if they are getting lag too, it helps to determine if it's your end or Valve.

You can try connecting a LAN cable between your router and pc.
"A LAN connection is generally faster than a WiFi connection and provides greater reliability and security".
When im gaming in my laptop with WiFi, i get these spikes too. After using a LAN cable, i have no spikes.

If nothing works, then in game settings, u can change acceptable max ping to 65 so that u connect to only ur local region servers and hence no spikes.

Usually u can fix it by reset DirectX
My ritual:
C:/program files 86/steam/userdata/ursteamid/730/local/cfg move config to desktop delete the rest
Counter strike global offensive/ csgo.exe delete
Verify game files and launch game
When u in main menu exit and move config back
