OVER 1000$ IN SKINS GONE IN FACE IT SCAM
The other day i had an invite from a random player in LFG saying he needed one more for this tournament on face it. He sent me a link to the tournament on the actual face it website, it looked completely legit, so i signed up.. signed into my steam on the face it website. part of the terms and conditions was not to have any high value skins in my inventory and the conclusion was to send them to my close friend.

I opened a trade to who i thought was my cousin, and sent all my skins over to him to hold onto them while i played the tournament. After the trade was done he logged off and probably blocked me, i didn't think much of it so i went to bed and woke up the next day and asked my cousin for my skins back and he said he never got anything. Now today i see another transaction for 54$ on my recent purchases.. account was obviously compromised. Just changed my password hopefully that's enough.

Does anyone know if there's any way i can be re reimbursed?
they should have a record of the scammer and my conversation on steam, and i have the messages to my friend that i opened the trade to telling him i'm going to send him all my skins.

Obviously fell for some stupid ♥♥♥♥ but i feel like there should be some way i could get them back??

look up api scam, i think the scammer used it.

if this was the case u can still get scammed again so u should look into it.

if I am participating in tournament and especially if that tournament is soon.... Why would I contact a random person? So that one random person could just walk away in the finals cause they have to finish homework. Or their boss calls them or they are 9 month pregnant and may have to visit the emrgency room at any moment, or they have karaoke night or something. Maybe it this was 10 years ago and different game. But in csgo, with all kinds of pro , semi-pro, amateur scenes established, who would need to just randomly ask a random player .... and no offence bruh, you are silver 2..... I am sure you are nice csgo player, but surely csgo tournament would have try to find someone a bit above your skill level.... just saying...

Do you actually expect people who fall for this scam to have common sense?
Uuuuh that's hurt man, well now you learned a wise lesson: NEVER trust anyone you don't know from internet, you should be more carefully next time.

For your account do as someone tell you in this post and change every password, don't put more money into your account until you know for sure that is already safe again.
