Report a translation problem
Valve knows that data can get corrupt, they do not ban because a file doesn't match. A window will pop up telling you exactly which files aren't matching.
You could edit the vpk files to make the game load other models/textures, and then play local versus Bots with the command sv_pure 0. But you can not play on any other sv_pure 1 servers (all Valve official servers, most community servers).
edit: Yes, custom models/skins were awesome in 1.6 and source. Doesn't exist in CS:GO, we have the Weapon Cases and Collections and Souvenir Weapon Packages for that.
