Can people hear you switching your weapons (ex. Primary to secondary)
I tried searching this up but I only found results from 2013 and they said you can’t but some people say you can so I wanna see if they changed it in an update

Yeah you can. If you're close enough to someone you can hear the intentional unlocking of the gun (gun specific) whenever they switch between their primary and secondary or knife (makes a schink sound).
That's why holds tend to fail since the opponent can hear if they keep switching back and forth. :csgo_dead:

so is it weapons that you have a taking out animation and a sound, like the smg where you smack it or the AWP where you pull the thing?
I mean at the start of every round in compe you can always hear your teammates guns getting unlocked whenever they buy. I don't need to prove anything here honestly. :papyruswacky:

No, you can't*. Watch someone at spawn point playing with their middle mouse changing weapons and listen carefully. You won't hear anything.
Try searching "what can enemies hear cs go".
UPD. *No, they can't.

They wont hear you changing weapons.
But they can hear you slashing with your knife, they can hear jumps, throwing items, aiming with scoped weapons. One thing what most players doesn't realize, when you're jumping, it will make a sound. I'm not speaking about the landing.

Oh, I see what you mean. I would rather say "picking up" then "unlocking". You can hear the same sound when you are picking up an object.
But you still can't hear person switching their equipment.

I really like how OP has pinned the wrong answer as a correct one.
