Not getting Overwatch XP

So I used to be in Overwatch years ago, not long after the game came out, so I know the deal with it pretty much. I recently got seriously back into the game and got ranked and immediately got my priveleges back.

I was excited by this and did a bunch of cases the first couple of days (like 10-20). Almost all of them are staring at the floor and knocking headshots constantly, often bunnyhopping about, so I report "beyond reasonable doubt" in the first 3 categories and only click the 4th if I see obvious TKs or something. All is good, I'm getting loads of XP rewards and get the pop up once (you did good, go play a game to get your XP etc.). Good times.

Well after those 2 days... nothing. I haven't had a single bit of bonus XP and I have been playing and Overwatching every day for almost a week since (admittedly it's decreasing to 10, 5, 3, 2 cases per day). 95% are still spinbotters and I'm giving them the same verdict as usual, but no XP, no popup, nothing.

I contacted Steam support about it and they basically copy/pasted the Overwatch help page to me as a response and when I objected that something weird seemed to be going on and I needed guidance, they closed the case. It doesn't make sense to me, as my behaviour hasn't changed, but the games has.

Something feels really wrong. Is anyone else getting this? Am I selecting the right categories with my judgements? This is really demoralising as the implication is that I am selecting the wrong verdicts and/or these obvious cheaters get to carry on cheating.

I keep doing a couple a day, but my enthusiasm has been waning a bit. Thanks for the pep talk though! Will update this thread if I ever get XP again.

valve is working on ow, it has been broken for more than 4 months, it is not banning players (it is banning, but not as before), all the cases you did were useless and a waste of time.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for that link.

Weird that a reddit thread from 3 months ago has an official response more comprehensive than what I get from Steam Support though. If they responded like "yeah you'll see more spinbotters atm and might not get much XP" I'd be more inclined to soldier on and help the process rather than a stock ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ response.

i wonder what's the point of overwatch if every single case is just a guy spinning around.. this should be blocked right away by VAC, i did close to 150 cases and not a single one was legit player

steam support does not have an open and friendly dialogue with players. they just do the obligation, copy and paste articles.

well i'm tired of giving my suggestions, the valve will never read what we suggest. but I think that obvious spinbots should be banned instantly and automatically. leave overwatch only for legit cheaters.

Either this was a bug for me, or there was suddenly a wave of bans. I got 400XP from Overwatch two games in a row just now

you get xp from overwatch normally, nowadays it's even easier. regardless of whether the verdict is correct or not, you receive xp bonus. I believe that the valve did this for people not to realize that the overwatch is broken. but we can see cheaters not being banned in our matches.

Not any souyrce on that claim, expecially when the amount of game banned people complaining seems normal.

there is really no source at all. valve will never release a note saying that overwatch is broken. but I'm saying what happened. automation ow> valve tried to fix this cheat and broke ow. those were the recent events. you receive xp inspection bonus but no one is banned. people who complain about banning here in the community are usually vac ban, this is detection and not overwatch.
now see how many complaints there are in the community of cheaters spinning and not taking a ban.

Same here, I do like 20 cases a week and I usually dont get any xp and message that they were banned even tho 95% of my cases are spinbotters, aimboters and wallhackers.

I also checked one demo of a spinbotter In overwatch and then manually via demo link, so I can see his profile. And guess what, he still isnt banned to this day after almost 3 months.
I think overwatch isnt working and cheaters find ways to bypass it.

You can get xp bonuses like 2 max 3 times a week. After that no matter how much demos you watch you won't get it.

It does work.
Thing is, you can only receive XP if you receive the notification once you start the game, right? Well, I do think so..

And, you do receive the notification and XP only if the user gets banned.
If the suspect doesn't get banned, you won't receive any.
