Why is CSGO harder to run than Valorant now?
For some reason, I'm getting more FPS on Valorant (Around 130-220, but never under 100) than in CSGO (Around 80-130). I play with low settings in both games, in fact my video settings in Valorant might actually be a little better. Why is this?

My Specs:
CPU: Intel i5
GPU: GTX 1650 OC

Valorant has less detailed graphics, so it shall be quite obvious.
However, you can look at the skins in CS:GO, whereas skins in Valorant are.. Well, quite „Meh..“.
How does that make sense is any world? Valorant skins are objectively better and cheaper. If anything, with all the effects and custom geometry skins in Valorant have more impact on performance than counterstrike's skins.
I'd have to disagree, as Valorant has certain graphical options disabled by default, and that's partly the thing, that's eating FPS in CS:GO.

why you have only one GPU mate
Should be tow GPU one of them for games and graphics

No you don't need it. Not everyone have integrated GPU. [/quoteif you not need it so it's about 30 - 38 fps in cs go even if you have 8 GB RAM

I have RX 580 and work fine. You don't need it, you only need better GPU.

Given that CS:GO has become quite CPU heavy, I wonder what model of CPU OP has. I5 he said, but what model?
I'm running a Ryzen 5 2600, 32gig ram and a RTX 2060 with over 200fps maxed out settings.
Cs go is a cpu demanding game and they havent optimised it a whole lot for modern cpus and gpus..its more optimised for dual core cpus then quad core cpus honestly
Tried launch command -threads 4 or higher if you have more cpu cores ?
Might help a bit with cpu performance limitations. The game has gotten more demanding on the cpu front with these updates vs even just 6 months ago probably yeah.

i do have a quad core i5 tho so i should change it to -threads 4 right?

i have a i5-4690k 4 cores
Don't mind the nerds above me talking rubbish and have no point in their statement and no conclusion.
The graphics doesn't matter which game has real or cartoonish, valorant utilizes both cpu and gpu, but gpu usage is high relative to cpu.
whereas csgo engine uses more cpu and less gpu bcz of their old engine and thats the reason source2 is important for csgo to optimize it.

i have R5 3600, and i tried with both 8gb card and 2gb card, it gives me the same exact fps everytime. i think 1-2gb works well in current version of cs, but better cpu is needed.

Good CPU but a bit outdated. I am running an i7-4770 (same series as that i5) And those CPUs have a slower RAM then modern CPU's, so it's an overall issue. CPU is 7 years old model and RAM is slower (2933 Mhz, on Ryzen 5 2600 vs 1600 Mhz on that i5)

It isnt. But i will say cs prefers amd cpus and try optimizing ♥♥♥♥ and turning off dynamic lighting and uber shading

part of source 2 is in csgo now and valve never stated there would be a full port of csgo to source 2
oh wow so in which update did we got the "part" of source 2 ?
