You obviously didn't read the whole thing....
Yeah. They totally dropped the ball making stats by subscription: they could have introduced something like premium servers with rarer drops and 128 tick for $2 a month instead.
We say they are useless and then the come up with something great every now and then.
Too bad they don't do it more often!
Everyone except the cheaters and Valve wants a working Anti Cheat. Sadly there seem to be more cheaters that real players nowadays. Cheating is virtually without any repercussion unless you use a free cheat or spinbot every game. VAC sucks and dont catch even the easiest cheats. VACnet cant even reliably autokick a spinbot, something a line of code would do reliably without any problem.
Or, in other words, why do you think they've 3 anti-cheats and 2 more systems to combat cheats?
If you have time, really watch this. In a nutshell it shows how broken machines are actually a profit for McDonalds. So we may never know. If cheating is creating more income for Valve than normal players, then who's to say what's going on. Just heresay anyway.

Most cheaters won't be spending money, knowing they're gonna get banned.

I know what you are saying and again, I am not saying valve is doing something similar, but a big company like Mcdonald's IS doing it.
