Counter-Strike 2
CS:GO on a MacBook air ?
So i need to buy a laptop so i can work from it when im on the move, and i want to buy the new MacBook with the M1 chip, cause apparently its so much better than their competition.

But i have some concerns on how well it works. so if anybody has tried playing CS:GO on it or has any information about (works smooth ? FPS ?...) it let me know.

Also if u do, please state youre specs [7 or 8 core GPU, RAM and SSD size], as im trying to buy the basic version.

thanks in advance.

Not everyone is that lucky to be able to afford a real PC.
if they can get a macbook they can get a budget gaming pc
Not in this market
Tried to build a pc low-mid ish tier and it was 2000 cad :(

You aren't trying hard enough and remember the shortage due to pandemic.

yea it is playable on low settings with about 60 fps but you need to turn steam overlay off and do a lot of other things

I have a 2020 M1 MacBook Air. Waste of time trying to play csgo on it, tho it does run. Nowhere near enough frame rate, nowhere near fast enough refresh rate. Don’t bother
how many FPS do u get ? tbh a consistent 60 would be more than enough for me

hi, sorry for not coming back sooner - actually the frame rate is ok. It just felt sluggish, but I assume that's down to the Macbook Air's 60hz refresh rate (I have a nice benq 240hz monitor, so everything seems cruddy after that), because when i put on net_graph 1 and ran around Mirage with no bots (1024x768 and as much graphical fanciness as poss turned off), I got typically between 120 and 150 fps - not too shabby for a Mac, imo. If you had 144hz monitor to plug into, it could be an ok machine to play CSGO on, I reckon

here's a quick screenshot of it:

btw this is an M1 Macbook Air, 2020. 8gb memory, 500gb flash storage, 8 core

thanks for all the info, same happen to me after i tried my friends 144hz monitor for a week, 60hz became unplayable, but after a few days i got used to it again.
from what youre saying, it plays like on a normal pc on 60hz, right ?
also offline maps have much more fps than on a Matchmaking match.
so if you happen to play comp on it, can u let me know how much FPS u get ?
good evening
